Too many pop ups to the catcher?

I seem to hit 2-3 pop ups a game back to the catcher, anyone else? Seems a little to much.

Yes, I see this too. Mainly on defensive swings.

Re: Too many pop ups to the catcher?

I've only played two games, but I've seen about 6 or with another 5 or 6 that went into the stands. It seems the majority of the foul balls are straight back or straight up or right down the lines. I don't see a lot that go in between those areas.

This is kind of why I wish there was a zone hitting system...then the user is 100% responsible for bat to ball contact.

I'm having a tough time hitting as it is and to go back and look at the replays on these foul balls and see that when I finally do have solid timing, my guy is constantly swinging under the pitch and popping it straight up is a tad frustrating.

I don't see this as that big of problem. IRL, just because the player times the swing right, does not promise perfect contact, or even any contact for that matter.

Don't think that's what the OP is getting at. The issue is that it seems somewhat pre-programmed and hard-coded, given how often it happens.

Did you play The Show a few years back on the PS2? That game had an extremely limited number of foul ball animations -- something like 6 or 8 different foul ball cutscenes and that was it. The foul ball stuff with 2K11 seems similar. I notice the C catches the foul ball in the same area most every time -- 15-20 feet from home plate on the 3rd base side.

I know this is just a random freak thing but last night playing my franchis game vs a friend. The final out of the inning for the 1st 4 innings for me was a pop out to the catcher..

I posted about this in the bug/glitch thread the first couple days the game was released. Way too many pop up's behind home plate.

Re: Too many pop ups to the catcher?

I haven't noticed an overly unrealistic amount of behind the plate pop outs so I can't complain too much about them. Usually when it does happen it because the timing of my swing was off. I'm just happy to see them in the game. I never realized I missed them until now.
