This game is really awesome

I've been messing around with it since release. This isn't something I could say last year. After hitting a 3 run bomb with yuniesky bettancourt in the bottom of the ninth and contact hitters not being able to hit them being my main concern with this game and solving that issue(swing with power more often, don't just use the contact swing with contact hitters), I'm sold on this game. I'm getting great pitch counts and balanced games. Drawing walks on both sides. I'm on the mound and picking my spots and actually pitching. Playing defense. The flow of the game is kind of fast and still too easy to pinpoint your spots when on the mound, but 2k did a great job with this game this year. It's just fun and the gameplay is balanced. I also have a ps3 and the show, so without comparing the two, I'm saying this as someone who has played both games and isn't just a 360 only owner looking for a fix. It's funny because playing the show actually opened up different ways to play this game to me. In the show I was basically playing it as a sim because that's how i expect it to play. In the past 2k has always been so buggy I go into it trying to cheese and find out it's flaws, but I'm doign the same here(playing it as a sim) and getting great results. VC did work this year and really came through.

If they can iron out a few things this game will be there. The graphics are good enough although can be cleaned up a bit, and 90% of this game is really great. My two main issues arethe speed of the game is ridiculous and it's just too easy to pinpoint your spots when you need to. They need to incorporate more variable pitching as far as ratings where a pitch goes instead of just having the window of where you put your gesture determine it. Everything else is great. Ultimately 2k did a lot of things right. I love the batters eye. I love the stats and tendencies. I love the control. I love the commentary and presentation and MLB Today.

agree with youve said, but those are deal breakers for me.
The speed kills the game for me. doesnt have the pacing of baseball because of this.

pitching-I just lowered the pitch control attributes for my pitchers, and messed around with the balls thrown sliders to get less pinpoint pitching. and boy, does that work. I may have lowered them to much.

I also hate the fielding in this game. deosnt feel like Im doing anything.

good game but I actually went back to 2k9, with adjusted sliders.

By the time the real mlb season roles around Ill probably get back to 2k10. IM waiting for the patch for this.

I like the abundance of stats info during the game also.

not giving up on this title, but not really overjoyed with it.

Glad you're enjoying the game.

As for me, it's a love/hate relationship at the moment, but I could be in love with this game if they patch some serious issues.

I won't lie, though. I'm having a blast with My Player.

I'm with you KG. The positives far out weight the negatives.

Re: This game is really awesome

It's fun but there are still some bad problems in gameplay. The base stealing, the bottled gameplay at times, the lack of errors. It could have been great and its not the nightmare 2k9 was. But it's got some major problems. For the $ it cost I expect a lot more.

I hear you. Stealing and errors is an issue. I'm not saying the game is perfect. They still need to clean up the graphics a bit and fielding and fix the pinpoint pitching. As well as what you said. It's still that proverbial year away from being truly great. But the core game here is really good and can be enjoyed at awesome levels imo.

I've played some really enjoyable games. That's not something i could say last year. Yes it has it's quirks. It's not quite there yet. This far into this gen that's kind of unacceptable I agree. But with how bad 2k9 was, nice job VC.

I guess my point is this game can be enjoyed this year. There isn't anything I would say that necessarily kills it. Some sketchy things yes for sure. The percentages are off on some hr's and pitch counts, and steals and errors. But then i'll play a game and it will be perfect. It goes back and forth. They are getting very close. It's just not quite there yet with the percentages.

Some of the things this game does is really innovative. I think the batting is great. The batters eye is in this game is one of the greatest things i've ever seen in a baseball game. MLB Today. The tendencies and stat overlays as far as pitch counts. I pitcher pitches 10% of his pitches to the outside corner and 55% fastballs, that is exactly what you are going to see. that's amazing stuff. I load the game up it downloads the latest rosters and has lineups set and brings me right to mlb today. The menus and interface is great.

I've been going back and forth with this game. Yeah I'll be playing the other one for my franchise. It's still a bit more tried and true. But this game is pretty awesome. You can't really shake a stick at it. I've put it through the paces. If anythign i will play mlb today games with this during the season and play the other game for franchise mode.

Talking Re: This game is really awesome

Not trying to get into debating or fued which is not allowed...but I have been 2k fanboy forever and this game is in a whole a horrible game! Hitting suks, fielding automated, graphics lackluster at best! I can't believe most still find this game good and not storming at 2k for this year also? It's time for 2k to lose the MLB rights for next season!
Good luck with your boring game of baseball guys!
