Know who really dropped the ball....

Microsoft! When 3DO went out of business they bought High Heat baseball (most of the it). HH while lacking in graphics was an example sim of baseball. Full minors to play, play any team and change there roster, ect. All it needed was the graphics to meet the gameplay. Any news as to why they just sat on this? I mean why buy the rights to something and not use it.

What does this have to do with MLB 2K9?

I've wondered the same thing for years.

[Selective memory alert!] Yeah, that HH 2003 was some rockin' game!

It needed much more than just graphics, sorry. And I'd much rather play 2K9.

Re: Know who really dropped the ball....

Has everything to do with 2k9....2k9 does have some of the same potential as the HH series . it has full minors and the ability to control all 30 teams. Graphics while not perfect are better than HH. HH is the model in which all baseball game should be made. So the developers of 2K can read this (not lost in an old HH forum that won't be read) and learn from it. As the links provide above a good memory for us while we wait on a patch.

The realism and the accuracy of pitch location and spins were perfect in High Heat! Did the game lack in graphics, definitely, but so did MLB 96 on the PS2 which is the same developers as The Show now and look where The Show is today. All I want is a game that is realistic and enjoyable for the 360, because thats all I've got!

Agree to disagree.

I played many seasons of HH on the PC. The modding community was top notch for that game. Stadiums, sounds, soundtracks, etc....... I didn't care about the graphics or animations, just sim baseball, real pitch counts, not over aggressive hitting, naked gun dance, and a manage mode.

Co-sign! And it's fielding was better than either The Show or MLB 2k9 is now (though MVP had the best).
