Question about changing positions

So if I want to change a player's position in the off-season to purchase XP packages for cheaper;
Ex. FS Mike Mitchell to a CB so I can upgrade his Man/Zone coverage for cheaper

will there be a rating penalty from before I switched him that carries over to after when I switch him back to a FS?

Maybe I'm not understanding what you are saying, but what do you mean by "rating penalty?"

His rating may rise or drop when you switch him over to a different position but it should be the same or greater once you switch him back to his original position. I haven't ever moved anyone over to upgrade attributes then had his rating be LOWER than it originally was before I did.

No there is no penalty for switching positions. You can move a guys position as much as you want

When you play a guy like say, James Harrison OLB at DE, doesn't his awareness drop in game? I'm wondering if switching around a guy's position multiple times will also drop awareness and will that drop stay even if i put a guy back at his original position?
