Good players getting cut

In my owner mode (i controll the vikings only) cam newton, frank gore and wes welker were all cut in the preseason of my 2nd year. cam was 95 OVR, gore 91 OVR and wes was 98 OVR! why is this happening!!!

The cpu does somw crazy stuff with age abd cap issues. My first offseason I saw gore sproles and a couple other big time players cut during camp. It's weird but I guess you chalk it upto maybe they have a falling out with the coach or something. I know in my ccm the teams that cut the big name players only a couple were cap related.

I can't speak for Cam and the Panthers, but I do know the 49ers have a very tight salary cap situation coming out of the 2nd season, and Frank Gore is one of those players up for an extension - one of MANY very expensive players that need to be re-signed after the 2nd season:

Colin Kaepernick, Michael Crabtree, Mike Iupati, Anthony Boone, Aldon Smith, Frank Gore, Chris Culliver, Bruce Miller, all just to name a few.

I know in my 32 man league, some of those guys are as good as gone, and to keep the few that I will be able to re-sign, I'm still going to have to drop some talent off my roster in order to accommodate.

And considering Gore's age, and the presence of guys like Kendall Hunter, LaMichael James, and Marcus Lattimore... well... I can see how Gore could be cut. It's not a very unrealistic thing from that perspective.

Completely agree with Gore being Cut in that sense, I know he's been fantastic for the Niners IRL too, but you can see they're expecting him to retire or move him sooner rather then later. In my CFM, Gore was cut in the second season, and not only was he cut, but nobody signed him. He then retired after the season.

I am in the post season right now in my year 2 owner CFM Controlling only the Dolphins. It has to be random. Gore, Welker and Cam are all on their respective teams still. I can tell you the biggest offensive name that was cut was Knowshon Moreno in year one during the Pre-season.

This upcoming offseason will be very interesting though with Dez Bryant and Wes Welker's both hitting the open market after turning down offers from their respective teams. I am going to go after Dez hard even though I have loads of cash tied up with Wallace (who has been nothing short of a stud for me).

Basically, every player in this game will hit free agency

I don't think I've played a single season where Gore doesn't hit the market after year one
