Why are my receivers slow after the catch?

Hey.

So is this a new thing in madden or am I just doing it wrong?

Whenever my receivers catch the ball, they really slow down. I haven't once caught the ball and continued running full speed ahead.

Am I doing it wrong?

yeah noticed it too, I think it's to tune down long passing TD's, since these don't happen so often in real life.

Lack of momentum emphasised in the physics of the engine.

Its the same reason we sometimes see the ball carrier 'stuck in mud' as he attempts to carry the pitch or toss.

The game needs momentum to be integrated into the phsyics - its not enough to partially install physics with collision effects: we need all the parts.

Catches in bounds are horrid too because the reciever dbl taps the same foot sometimes like he is momentarily brain dead and dunnno how to move his feet.

Its a grievance to my sight whenever I witness this shotty footwork.

If they want to tone down long passing TD's, they could, I don't know, make defense functional?

But nah, that's too complicated. Let's just build in even more unrealistic mechanics to an already broken foundation making a big ol' wobbly Jenga stack of fail.

It's what allows the way-out-of-position defenders a chance to make the tackle.

I didn't notice this at all in '13 and to me this is one of my biggest grievances to 25. I get a BURNER.. to TAKE THE TOP OFF OF THE DEFENSE.. usually that WR has stone hands.. but when he does burn the D AND catch the ball, he magically slows down enough to get tackled from that same CB he just burned for 10 yards worth of separation! Are you kidding me? AWFUL! Anyone have a fix for this? Cuz I know it won't get patched lol

Meh, I've noticed this for awhile with all ball-carriers. It's why Darren Sproles can be chased down by a Dlineman. I just call it Madden Science. A football weighs 50 pounds.
