Tomba's Madden 25 Speed Conversation

Something plays right and then something don't look right...

Then there's things that sliders can fix and then there's stuff I'm scratchin' my head at...

Where are the testers?

Where are the tests after the ratings guy rates players?

Who's into natural movement? I know I am are you?

Ok that said let me get into what I think would work for Madden 25 Current Gen and I have to say CURRENT gen cuz I know ppl are puting all their hopes and dreams into NEXT GEN being just so amazing at launch(add sarcasm here _______ )

CONTROLLING SPEED OF PLAYERS AT THEIR POSITION

That my friends is what its finally all about.

When Madden 25 game play unfolds there always on commonality through out every play. Players OVEREACTING.

Why should players who shouldnt be SO aware of where the ball is going be SO aware?

Is it reality to have 3 players all at once rush towards a deflection of a ball hitting the ground off on incomplete throw?

Is it a reality to have two players collide because they were both trying to catch up to a receiver they had no business guarding in the first place?

I implore you all? You the TESTERS and RATERS of Madden Football to just look at what you've done after you've done it!

Basically players should be GROUPED.
SPEED GROUPED

Imagine a world where players would act like their weight...

Big guys are naturally slower albeit guys like Wilfork. But as an overall average you see it more often than not that it's true.Thinner guys are fast, shorter guys are fast and so it goes again on an average.

Sliders work this year absolutely love my tests so far, but there's glaring issues ad those issues are simpler due to the lack of work of good follow through on the part of the ratings ppl SEEING what they're ratings actually DO in game after they rate them...

With Roster Share available this year I feel I can reach a lot more ppl with an edit. Two years ago I edited the bananas out of Madden 12 for Xbox 360 but most of you that used it had to download it onto a usb stick and work it into your profiles. Ontop of that many PS3 users never even got a chance to play with the 2 months work of editing i did for 360, so this year I'd like to do something for the PS3 users.If in fact we can roster share possibly we can transfer rosters over from ps3 to 360 since ways have been found for NBA 2k13

That all said I'm going to go ahead and do what I do best.

CAFFEINE NIGHT!

Ok so I went into player ratings a bit now and edited one simple thing.

Making sure the disparity of speed/acceleration were no more than 10 either way from each other

ex:
speed 90
acc 99

speed 99
acc 90

From just simply evening out this disparity one thing quickly becomes apparent...

Players tend to stick to a zone or a field of their own view. meaning players dont go greatly out of position and dont GANG tackle as much even when ball crriers bring it up the middle!

Kinda cool so far.

Only did eagles so my test was with eagles VS eagles(ohh zoom cam is LOVELY)

Saw one minor issue with the man coverage and zone coverage rating/attribute but am unsure if it plays into what i think it plays into...

Either way it's early progress with the early release!

Tomba help get us to a point where we are not complaining about gameplay anymore...

ps. in the context of speed, how is the framerate on the Ps3 version?

Also let me iterate that YES the PS3 users WILL NEED your rosters this year.

Good question about framerates

Actually pretty solid for me so far

An update to what I am personally seeing now

AI ball carrier intelligence(running out of bounds when they shouldnt have to with a wide open field)

Defensive line going outside way to much

Also I'm thinking that high motor can be attributed to rocket like pursuits

But thats all side stuff I'm more worried about players just being abnormally out of position or just being generally always in the "tackle zone'

Been play testing seems like awareness this yr is actually ok. Its more of a player speed issue...

Basically doing a uniformal "check" of all players making sure no players is more than 10 apart when it comes between speed and acceleration then you'll be good with some of zig zagging across the feild that happens occasionally.

Biggest complaint is the way i feel the infinity engine makes players flop around too much but i feel its tied to an attribute STILL.

Another problem area (and i say problem area in the sense of the roster will fix it)is the pursuit of defensive linesman off to the side.TOO many times left end tackle will just hop on over to a receiver lane or a pitch route and its annoying...

one thing i do for my roster edits that improves gameplay is to either raise or lower agility to match that players current acceleration rating.
