Leave it to EA & their Tiburon team to put this out and call it Next Gen Football??! It’s truly embarrassing and a smack on the face to us hardcore football gamers.. This is Pastapadre’s Quick Thought’s on Madden Next Gen, “Least impressive was Madden Football 25 which didn’t stand out as a huge leap over the current generation version which had been played earlier in the day. Before jumping to judgment keep in mind this comes from early in development and featured all 22 players on field but in a practice environment with only running plays as Adrian Peterson. Enhancements to the blocking were the focus here but it seemed like the current gen version had already showed a lot of it and the physics and animations were somewhat familiar. Madden just didn’t “pop” the way the other next-gen games on display did.” I have a question for you football fans.. What makes you or anyone believe that EA & Tiburon can make a truly Next Gen Football game?? Now really think about it before you answer the question… Think about how madden has been riddled with issues for so long.. Think about how this Madden game is compared to other current or next gen games.. Think about how long it takes for them to implement “truly” new innovation or technology.. Think about how many producers have come and gone.. Think about how long they have messed with football gamers by adding Gimmicks instead of really improving the real issues that plagued madden.. Last one, and this to me has be the most important.. Think about how a smaller company by the name of 2k sports put outa football game called 2k5 almost 10 years ago, that’s right almost a DECADE ago, still has more & better animations then Madden current Gen & even that Next Gen demo released.. How is that even possible?? How?? Here’s one example: CB/WR Jostling or Oline/Dline interaction animations.. Madden still can’t compete in those two areas of animations with what 2k5 did 9 years ago! This company EA & Tiburon are just finally doing something close to what 2k did with the Oline/dline interaction on their Next Gen Madden??! Just now??! Something a company did almost a Decade ago?? Something is not right.. We want to believe this company can finally make the change, but the proof is in the pudding! How can you trust this company?? What's sad is that there is no other choice...

This is my gripe with where Next-Gen Madden currently stands. It really seems like a lackluster attempt by EA. They claim repetitively that they've been hard at work trying to recreate true football experience, but with a jump to more powerful systems I guess I was expecting them to have really put some effort into putting out a game that can match the new systems' powers. What I saw looked like current generation product.

I will say that I am excited to see that they have worked on blocking and line play for both generations. While I haven't seen how passing/pocket protection/pass rushing works, the run blocking looks to have made a significant improvement. I thought the blocking was pretty solid in '13, but it's great to see that they have worked to make the players smarter. Time will tell how this holds up.

I dunno man....It's hard for me to get hyped when I see so much of the same thing. Developers like Naughty Dog are putting out products that look, feel and emerge gamers into spectacularness. I don't get that same vibe when I pop in Madden, and I didn't get that vibe from that next-gen video either.

Visually, the main improvement I've noticed so far is the colours. They look much more realistic and not as unrealistically vibrant.

It’s sad really.. I just don’t understand why more people are not concerned?? I really think we as football gaming fans are becoming immune to what EA sports is putting out nowadays.. Seriously I think some of us are just accepting it, like there’s nothing that can be done. We have come to terms with the fact that it is what it is, EA has total control of the Football gaming industry and no one cando anything about it.. It’s unbelievable.. I still haven’t found an answer from anyone as to why a game that was done almost 10 years ago can still outdo Madden Football 25 current or Next Gen in terms of animations & gameplay?? BINGO! EA has brainwash so many people that they are just accepting anything they can get because they love football and this is the only choice they have. Notice what happened to NBA Live with competition, they don't think Madden would be in the same boat! Madden suffers from the same thing that NBA Live did, unrealistic stiff robotic movement.
Like you mentioned the same old Qb signal call animations, they still don't have it where the Qb completely moves from up under the center to call audibles like at that other football game; and what bugs me the most, still the same old canned tackles! are you kidding me! (in the Skip Bayless voice.) The tackling is mostly canned animations which means rating still don't really matter and I bet a kicker can still block JJ Watt in this game. But somehow people still think this game is going to come out to be the one we've all been waiting for by November..... COME'ON MAN! (in the Chris Carter voice.)

Agree 100% Especially about the comparison to NBA Live.. So damn true..

Can you imagine what would of happened to the Madden football series if they did not get the NFL exclusive license and monopolize the Football gaming industry?? There would be no more Madden as there was no NBA Live for several years now! Now do you really think EA did everything to get the exclusive rights to the NFL in order to keep there CASH COW going?? Your damn right they did.. It only makes sense for them business wise.. Unfortunately the hardcore football gaming fans got left behind, and we are still waiting for something to happen..

For once, I'm going to defend EA a little bit. Just a little. No one can complain about how the current gen Maddens looked. The game was damned pretty graphically. So, to expect that much of an improvement from a gameplay camera seems a little unreasonable. The "XBox One" version of the game, was actually not using Xbox One hardware. It was on a PC. I do not believe that their next-gen graphics engine is just not ready to show. To me, it looked almost identical to current gen Madden. Now, I'll be the first to gripe that it took them NINE years to do something that that is fundamental to football. And I'm STILL waiting for fronts and coverages. But, the double teams blocking and the pockets looked fantastic and, to me, a positive step is a positive step. If they can clean up this Infinity engine bugs, I'll be cool with that. With that said, I did see some old issues pop up quite a bit. But it's too early. So we will see.
