True player overall in ccm?

Example

Player A rated 77 in view roster, 68 in game depth chart

Player B rated 74 in roster and 72 in game depth chart

Who's better?

Someone please explain this to me

Thanks

Re: True player overall in ccm?

The Player ratings outside of the game are based on Your Coaches Scheme...

If you run a 3-4 Defense, big defensive ends with high block shed and strength will be rated higher than 4-3 pass rushing defensive ends with high finesse move and speed ratings...

Same thing goes for every position...

If you have a West Coast Scheme, Quarterbacks like Sam Bradford and Tony Romo will be rated higher than QB's like Jay Cutler and Josh Freeman (who both have big arms)...

Speed WR in a Speed Scheme will be rated higher than possession WR's...

The players actual ratings don't change, just their OVR Rating Changes to reflect how they fit into the scheme your running.

Make sense?

Re: True player overall in ccm?

I know that players overalls change based on your scheme once you enter ccm

I'm saying in my ccm players are rated differently in say progress players or view my roster than in an actual game when I view depth chart or pick a play by a player

And often a player who in my ccm has always had a superior rating than another player will have the lesser overall on game day

This is what has me confused

Re: True player overall in ccm?

So remember past maddens had a single OVR rating each player no matter what scheme your team ran... that is what's showed when you look at your depth chart during a game. What you see from the menus of CCM are your players' overall rating with respect to whatever scheme.

No, I think what he is talking about is in the in game depth chart from the coaches menu right? If so, that variance is caused by edfect of DPP and hot/cold streaks and what not.

Re: True player overall in ccm?

Umh galligan explained it quite nicely..

menu OVRs = scheme OVRs = an OVR made up of only 3 or so attributes. It is very crappy, and EA should have made the option of choosing which OVR to see in menus, or at least show both.

The ingame OVR (which you call game day?) is the "REAL" OVR. It is the OVR based on ALL of your players attributes, not just 3 attributes ("scheme"). It is the OVR you have been used to in M12, etc.

I just said "on game day" lol yes IN-GAME overalls.

I'm mostly asking because of a few players.. Example

Linebacker 1 in menu- 74, in game 75
Linebacker 2 (younger) in menu 78, in game 66

So when I view my roster lb 2 is younger and better but then in games he has a terrible Ovr and shouldn't be playing over lb 1

So I didn't know who to view as the better player

But I guess seeing as In game Is "true Ovr" il go more by that
