In Madden, what ever happened too......

What ever happened too......

1. The ability to make custom plays, and custom playbooks?

2. Running out of bounds on punts untouched and then coming back in to make a tackle?

3. The ability to have certain players for certain packages set, before you played a game?

4. The halftime show?

5. The chain gang?

6. Hitting guys out of bounds and being penalized?

7. Hitting WR's before they are about to catch a ball and then getting penalized?

8. The "Old" truck stick?

9. Stands half full when your team was performing bad?

10. The crowd booing a bad pick at the draft?

11. Helmets coming off on extremly hard hits?

12. The original kick meter?

13. The QB cone?

14. The ability to play as an offensive lineman and block?

15. The scouting report that revealed plays and tendencies that your opponent ran and the percentage that they ran them?

16. Hiring and firing your assistants?

17. Setting your prices, rebuilding your stadium, change location?

18. Having WR's play in the secondary as well as other players play completly different positions? Remember sneakin your backup QB in at punter and pissing off your buddy when you threw out of the punt formation.

19. Expansion draft? See Texans and Browns 2.0.

20. What ever happened to the greatest offensive play ever in the Madden franchise? The "middle" screen, to the running back, out of the 4 receiver set, Shotgun formation. Loved that play!!!

21. Icing the kicker?

22. Wind affecting a pass? Yes that used to be in the game.

23. Player roles?

24. Player's getting pissed if they were second string or not playing, and sitting out because they were unhappy with their current contract?

25. John Madden and Pat Summerall?

Honorable mention, players section includes....
1. Mike Alstotts Truck move
2. Mike Vick's scrambles
3. Derrick Brooks speed
4. Michael Bennett bouncing like a pinball off defenders
5. Herman Moore 98
6. Emmitt Smith's Spin move (early 90's version)

9. Dante Hall on a kick return

Dishonorable mention includes.....
1. Making a pass 30 yards down field as your QB is facing the opposite direction and falling down.
2. Playing defense, before 05.
3. The WR drag route in the 90's, simply put, the cheesiest money play ever made. (You could easily go 28 for 28 with a QB in a game)
4. Trade logic before Madden 13
5. The spin move in the mid 2000's that actually made you move faster than if you held the sprint button.
6. The NEW Truck stick.
7. Cb's the same size as a DT, 90's versions.
8. Ability to get out of an injury animation by going no huddle
9. Rocket catching.
10. Zone defense in Madden 13!!!

1. I miss it too. Such a great part of the past Madden games.

3. I've wanted that for years! Sometimes you don't want your first string wide receiver on a Singleback handoff, because your 4th string is your return man with the speed and agility!

6. Come to think of it, yeah, where'd that go??

8. Miss it SO MUCH! Now it just looks like a normal tackle, I don't even know if the hit stick is even 'activated' or whatever.

9. Yes! It makes the win that much sweeter when you're the away team.

10. THIS! Whether it's applause or booing, it was a great little part of the draft!

11. YES! That's one of the things that definitely strokes your ego when you're playing. Even if it didn't mean an injury sometimes, you still get to think 'Yeah, that guy's gone! Hit him pretty hard... Yeah.'

12. I love the sliding kick meter of '12 (And others), but I've gotten used to both. We kinda have to, since it's an on and off thing.

16. Another part that should definitely be included.

17. One of my old favorites! Loved rebuilding the stadium.

18. Goes along with #3, loved that!

22. Yep, definitely. Wind, rain, snow, everything should. It's only common sense.

24. One of the biggest things I miss about the games. As annoying as it was, players holding out and being unhappy for not starting was SUCH a great addition.

We gave up all that for a twitter feed, broken XP system, and a 30 second blurb about rookies in the draft that is never brought up again.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here but I don't see any other additions in CCM compared to franchise. They really should have let CCM cook another year.

Reading that list takes me back though. Madden really did used to be a good game. Not necessarily a realistic sim but a good game. Now it's neither.

Majority of that list was taken out a year after it was put in. Perhaps they will bring it back and promote it as a "new feature" in future iterations.

Madden isn't the cash cow, FIFA is.

I had a player on my team got called for roughness. Hit a player as he was going out of bounds.

OT: Yesterday I saw an illegal touching on the Offense. First time in my Madden-life and Im playing it since 95. So there seems to be some kind of inovation but they're pretty good in hiding it from the masses.
