32-team control workaround in offline CCM

OK, so I stopped by GameStop and was able to play the full copy of Madden 13. After a discussion on here, I figured out a workaround for those of you who like to A) control every team and B) play whatever games you want during the season.

Here's some notes:
-You can retire from your active coach/player and select a new one. That previous coach stays active. I was able to go back and forth between Pat Shurmur, Andy Reid, Marvin Lewis and Lovie Smith without trouble in Week 1.

-I played the Browns-Eagles game as Shurmur, super-simming to the end. Afterward I switched around coaches. The Browns-Eagles score was still in effect after I switched coaches, and I could play my new team's game.

-I bring up the latter with a note. You cannot sim said coach's game and expect that to save (unless you play the game and super-sim it, I believe). I tried just simming the Bears' Week 1 game, retired from Lovie, then simmed the Bengals game. I retired from Lewis and returned to Lovie and the Bears. The previously simmed game for the Bears was not reflected. However, my original Browns-Eagles game, which I played by super-simming, was reflected in the standings. I went back to Shumur and Reid, and both had their game as being completed.

I hope that helps some. Since you have the option to turn off CPU trades, you kind of have 32-team control in a way. I think you'll still have CPU teams cutting and signing players, but it's something. Enough that I plan on trading NCAA and purchasing it now.

Side note, I noticed on Best Buy's website you can get $40 store credit on NCAA 13 through today. Believe it expires tonight.

Thanks for this info. I'm going to try it out.

How do you retire? [edit] Okay. I found it. It's under "More...", "My Career".

I noticed, and remember hearing, the XP doesn't save. I wonder if you, say, improve a player's ratings (like a rookie QB in the preseason), then switch teams, if his rating stays the same or reverts back.

I can confirm that this does indeed seem to work. It's a little tedious, but it will allow me to play all games during a season.

As far as the XP goes, I don't care so much about that. I will have another save for that experience. I just want to have a league where I can play any/every game.

Yeah me, too. I just noticed going into the Week 1 game with the Browns that McCoy started over Weeden with a 75 to the rookie's 74. I wonder if I were able to boost Weeden to 76 in the preseason if it would stick?

What do u know.... That works. Tedious as hell.... But I'll take it. Time to run these teams the way they should be.

Couldn't care less about XP I want these teams to play how they should.

Since I only play 2-3 seasons I'm not into playing with a league a fake players , I just want to play a good NFL like simulation.

Time to get to work.

Yeah, it may be stupid to some, but we all have our deal breakers. I was thinking of not buying the full version due to this limitation. This workaround will do fine and I'm going to keep my pre-order.

It's time consuming but I ENJOY going through each team and FIXING what leads to nonsense many complain about with stats and play time ...
You know.... Doing what EA should have done.
