The Demo is going to be very close to the final build. Its called a Demo for a reason, to give people a sample so they buy the game. If it was called a beta, then its to find the bugs and fix them before the release. You really think a code revision is going to happen 2 weeks away from release? They probably have already started printing the game. Like I stated before, don't get your hopes up.

Something else that I loved was that the defenders seemed to take realistic angles. I broke out on a run from my own side of the field and the Safety came all the way over and forced me out at the 5. Yes, I know that they've halfarsed the angles in the past but the RTP engine has perfectly handled that part of the game.

Game reviewers are ruining the industry....it happened with BackBreaker and its now happening with Madden. You give anyone ANYTHING to complain about and they will...not looking at the big picture. So why try something new?

Reviewers apparently want things to stay the same...while still expecting us to spend $60 yearly?

No one wants to try something new, because they'll get shoved to the ground before even being allowed to improve on innovation. The good thing is that EA is a huge company...they can deal with it and eventually turn folks around....but smaller companies or indy devs? well its over before it even starts.

We've been asking for physics. They give us physics and they get bashed for it. It's either not good enough or should have already had it years ago (I guess NBA 2K should have had it years ago too). We ask for better presentaion. They've made leaps in this department the last 2 years, but they get bashed for it. Darned if they do and darned if they don't. EA just can't win.

I honestly don't understand all the hate in this thread. Many years this game has been, well............. just plain bad. Madden is moving in the right direction, but many have nothing good to say at all about the demo. How in the world could someone not see any positives from this years game? If you can't enjoy this years game, then I guess you'll never enjoy a football game ever.

Here is a problem I think some are having, Do you want people to judge the game as it is, or judge the dev teams effort/feature list ? Some of you are blurring the lines between 2 distinct things.

Yes this team added some things we all wanted to the game, but thats not the thing being judged in this thread. Its the game we are playing.

I am not going to give my full review till I put some more time in with the demo, but from what i have played so far this game needs a lot of work. Some of you seem to be content with the fact the game has somewhat of a physics engine in it but ignore the fact it DOES have some issues.

The demo is at minimum two weeks old. The devs have already talked about significant changes not included in the demo(replay changes, camera angle additions) and all of ea's recent games have changed fairly significantly from demo to retail.

The sad thing is, im not exaggerating.

What is realistic about it? Certainly not the players in motion. Certainly not the physics. Certainly not the cartoony graphics and animations. Certainly not the cheat logic AI.

WOW a whole 2 weeks! Continue to fool yourselves. I for one will not be surprised one bit when the MAJOR flaws are still there. I'll still play the game, but giving people false hope by saying its "ok, its just the demo" is misleading.

My impression:
It was "Meh"...
The ragdoll "physics" are a little wonky - unnatural body positions occur often after tackle animations...
The lighting makes it very difficult to distinguish who's who downfield... esp during kicks returns amd longer pass plays...
The game speed makes the players' movements appear jerky and jarring...
Replays are very poor... the relevent portion of the play is almost always omitted...

I'm a little puzzled as to why Madden has all the familiar button commands every year but they keep relocating them on the controller as to slow the learning curve of an otherwise very simple game... example: tapping A was for sprinting for many years... now it's RT... BUT IT'S STILL JUST SPRINTING.... just seems a little convoluted if there's no change to the practical application.

Presentation was solid... familiar.

Matter of fact, it all felt "familiar"... I didn't get the feeling that it was broken... or revolutionary in any way...

"Meh"
Game controls are just flat out junk!!!!!!!! What happened to the way it was? When you had stiff arm left n right, juke left n right, a speed button, a spin button, a dive button, hurdle or jump button!! Defense you could spin left or right, strafe or rip move left or right! What a mess this game is!! I feel like the game plays itself and I can kind of guide it along!
