Re: Five Things EA Sports must do for Success in Madden NFL 13

I read the list and agree with PART of it... But I wouldn't be ME if I didnt disagree with something, right?

1) PASS TRAJECTORY

The frequency at which this issue come up is disheartening, but I appreciate that MMChris says that linebackers aren't really superman. Where we disagree is whether there is a wide enough range of trajectories available. I can't speak for the 360 (own the system but never play it), but on the PS3 it's not difficult to throw the ball over the under-coverage so that it drops under the over-coverage.

I believe the notion that the trajectories aren't varied enough comes from players who view passing as simply pressing buttons without considering HOW THEY PRESS THE BUTTONS. Pushing buttons all 'willy-nilly' is the reason trajectories seem so limited. In addition to bullets and lobs, there are trajectories in between that require the user to activate the buttons in a way that produces the throw they need.

Other than that - I'm in complete agreement with the other 4.

Good article.

These are good points, Phil. With EA, it's become a wait-and-see approach for me in terms of whether I'm buying the football games at this point. There's plenty of other things both games need to address as well, but like you said, we've harped on them for years and only now have we seen a few of them implemented into the game, which leaves me doubtful that we'll see any major advances in the last 2 years or so of the 360/PS3 era.

Hopefully the games get off to a better starting point next generation, because both NCAA and Madden stumbled horribly out of the gate this generation, and it has taken them years to get their footing. One could argue that Madden and NCAA 12 is where both games should have been in 2006 ... not 2011-12.

Highly doubt the NFL and EA allow the license to run out.

Instead of the title of the thread being named "Five Things EA Sports must do for Success in Madden NFL 13", should be corrected to "1,000,000 Things EA Sports must do for Success in Madden NFL 13."

Game has so many problems

You must have been reading my mind. While I would have dropped pass trajectory down one or two notches I completely agree with those Top 5. I am really tired of the lack of physics and momentum in EAs football games. I'm taking a year off from EA if that doesn't significantly improve this year.

Surprised updated sound and commentary didn't make the list, it was atrocious.
The announcers are embarrassing! This is a great list but the announcers are the worst of all of the major sports videogames. The Show, MLB 2k, Fifa, NBA 2k12, NHL, and UFC put Madden to shame in this department.

6. Let people edit draft classes and upload them for others like 2k and WWE Games!!! That way we wont have to spend hours getting incorrect and terrible looking draft classes.
