I agree.nothing to get excited about. But the tuner thing is nice,I will admit. But the onside kick thing will be exploited unless EA limits it. Honestly the only thing that could get me excited about Madden 12 is additions and innovations to online/offline franchise.

Jon Robinson: Is there a limit to how many times players will be able to attempt this throughout the game?

Quote:
I don't want people to think that this is an exploit and that we're capping it because it's an exploit, but the idea is that once a team does one, there's no way that the other team would fall for it again. They're going to be setup for it and they're going to prepare for it. So I don't want to make this unlimited where some guy spends six days straight in practice mode and finds a way to recover every time and ruins online play for everyone. That's why we're limiting this to just one or two or maybe three. We'll see how it works out closer to ship.
Okay, this quote doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I get not wanting to make it an exploit, but to say that there's going to be a setup and there's no way a team is going to fall for it twice, then why put a cap on it?

I would hope with the addition of surprise onside then a counter would be implemented, similar to how you have "safe" on punt returns. This addition is all the more reason for more comprehensive special teams play.

You don't want to see what you see in real life in the game?
We rarely see surprise onside kicks. Its understandable why someone wouldn't care if its in the game or not. Some are more concerned with the basic fundamentals of every snap that have been neglected for years.

We rarely see fake field goals. Should we get rid of those? How about safeties? Those are rare as well.

Besides, whether or not he doesn't care if it's in the game or not wasn't the point. He said it's gimmicky, which I fail to see the logic in.

And it's only February. Do you really expect something like WR/DB interaction to be talked about right now?

Things like surprise onside kicks are just fluff without fundamentals. That is why he said it. A safety is a part of the rule book so, I don't see why you even used that as an example.

People are aware of how the Madden team releases information, but that is not going to change their reaction to it. "Meh" news is "meh" news whether it comes in Feb. or April. This is not what some fans want to see given the recent history of the series.

Anyway, that's all I'm going to say on it. Shouldn't carry on about this...just understand that you will see posts like that from time to time until release. This isn't anything new from the Community

I am sorry, but this is a brilliant move by EA sports. It's the first feature of M12, so you know it's not some huge back of the box thing, and there is currently 27 pages all talking about it. There is so much discussion just from this thread, which was the goal for Tiburon.

Exactly. This was announced to generate discussion, hype, hate, whatever it gets because it puts Madden 12 in motion.

There's always going to be a faction who will call anything new added as gimmicky.

The YouTube Apostles and their Acolytes preaching the "double hit tackles" and "real time physics" gospel, for the next 6 months and wondering why All Madden Difficulty cant produce realistic gameplay.

It's the same cycle every year.

too early to tell anything.

I was skeptical as to how Madden 11 would be, and I ended up having a immense amount of fun.

'11 was fun, look forward to having fun in '12 as well.
