Are Maddens graphics degrading?

My friend let me borrow Madden 2011. The only time before this i played the game was when the demo launched back in August. And i have to say, it doesn't even look as good as Madden 09.

It seems as with all the new technology powering the game, the presentation and graphics take a hit. I'm playing with the same set up i played with before, actually this time i'm running HDMI cables over the component cable. The demo with the Jets and Colts in Sunny New York looked good, but the actual game looks meh.

The character models are sort of lacking, and it makes it even more apparent when awkward animations occur. The field doesn't degrade any more, the uniforms don't get dirty as well. I didn't think EA needed to improve the games look because they've come such a long way from the ps2 games, but it seems as if After 09, the graphics have been second though. Technically thats fine if gameplay comes first, but in this case i feel like we lost two things instead of one

yes, the early next gen games graphics look better than the current madden graphics

They had to tone them down a tad in 11 so they look better in 12 All new lighting and stuff you know.

You mean Madden 06 and 07?

Madden 09's graphics, IMO, was pretty dull and bland compared to Madden 11's. I also don't see how the demo differs from the actual game in terms of graphics. Maybe you should play the actual game at the same time of day the demo takes place and see if there is a difference.

I would say sort of yes and sort of no. The graphics was a little better in Madden 10 then in Madden 11. But the Graphics are still good. The Graphics are never going get any better until they upgrade to a new game engine for madden. But I still think the graphics in madden 11 is pretty good. Ain't the best in the world of gaming but will do until a new game engine comes along.

The graphics look great in my opinion. However there are two key things missing that would put them over the top:

1. Dynamic lighting
2. Field degradation

These were in next gen Madden 07, but were pulled later, go figure.

I think Madden textures are always top-notch. It's the animations that get me out of the immersion. Hopefully Madden 12 improves in this category.

Maybe its just me then, but i feel as if the lighting engine and overall game dating even back to Madden 07 looks better than 11. Played more games yesterday and i still hold to this. When the end of the game comes around and they do the player interview, it looks horrible.

It maybe not be that big of a thing, but i feel as if Madden 07 played smoother and looks better. Less jags and much better textures on the jerseys. Maybe its just me though, but I feel as if they downgraded the games look to introduce to us Locomotion
