Cap Penalites

Does anybody know if there is a way to clear cap penalites in franchise mode?

Re: Cap Penalites

I think you just have to wait it out and they eventually get cleared. I started accumulating penalties in year one through trades and cuts. The number remained zero until the beginning of year 2 and now at the beginning of year 5 i'm back down to zero

In previous Maddens, you used to be able to go to "Team Info" in the Franchise menu, and you'd hit "X" (or B, or something) to clear your cap penalties, but you took a hit in "prestige" (which the higher it is, the better you were able to sign those big name free agents)...I'm not sure if it's still around.

Re: Cap Penalites

yea there is but its a little tricky. if your in negative cap in pre season before week one. cut one of your players so that you dont have mininum at that position. then go to options and change "fill roster" to CPU then sim your game. before it sims it will say that you dont have the players needed at a certain position to play a game. then choose let cpu fill roster. then the option for clear cap penalties will come up. and there you go. its dumb that this is the only way to do it. i found this out by accident too hahaha

Re: Cap Penalites

really? it works for me every time!? try cutting players to the mininum. like 2 qbs 3 rb 1 fb 4 wr etc. and then cut the 2nd qb and try that. remember put fill roster as cpu

Re: Cap Penalites

Maybe, just run your team more realistically and don't cut and trade player's with big signing bonuses and long term contracts. Then, you won't have to worry about how EA didn't give you an "out" for your cheesing ways.
