Re: Inclusion of Fictious NFL Persons

The question is, should EA continue including fictious NFL persons, specifically the two Make A Wish children and Josh Moore, the Patriots HC?

I am starting this poll because my answer is no and I didn't want to go way off topic in the 'Who is Josh Moore' thread. My response in that thread was:

Quote:
I find this to be annoying. EA has an exclusive license with the NFL, the game should represent that or let someone else make one that does. NE Coach is better than some combination of names from developers. It isn't cute or funny, it is annoying.
What truly prompted me to ask this question was the response I received in that thread:

And my answer (not posted in the 'Who is Josh Moore' thread):

In short, yes. As well as including anyone not in the NFL, specifically to this thread, Josh Moore.

Including two dying kids, as you put it, is a poor answer to their wish. Not to mention, why not three, or four, how many kids were denied? By your logic that would be cruel.

Madden is the only NFL football game and it includes, in default rosters, fictious, talented representations of dying kids.

Want to Make Their Wish EA, set up a game against the current Madden Bowl champ. Or hang out and see how the game is made behind the scenes. Or anything besides something as lame as being put in a game that allows you to create anyone as is.

All I am saying is that the reward to the kids isn't worth what it takes from consumers.

Again I ask, should EA include fictitious NFL persons? Or am I a horrible human being? Let me know, my conscious is curious.

Re: Inclusion of Fictious NFL Persons

i like the josh moore better than just NE coach caught me off guard though.

i have no problem with them letting a kid who is dying be in the game it won't affect ranked matches at all so i dont see the problem its not like they make him a 99 in everything so i dont see what the problem is

they had walsh and makino last year so

I accidentally voted no... didn't mean too, I mean it more as "I disagree with you".

The kids wish wasn't "to see the game made behind the scenes", it was to be in Madden. Yet, because you're sensitive to Josh Moore vs. NE Coach, we shall deny this kid his dying wish... and your justification is that we shouldn't because it would be mean to do so when so many others don't get their dying wish?

Wow... your logic is way beyond twisted.

You can just edit the guys down to 0 so he wont be used and I think an actual name is better than NE coach. Eventually NE coach will go somewhere else and and end up coaching the browns or something. Now that's annoying. The make a wish foundation finds ways to help terminally ill kids fulfill a wish so more power to ea for doing this.

Re: Inclusion of Fictious NFL Persons

Having Moore as the Pats' HC is better then just NE HC or whatever it was. But they could have just put some random real FA coach as their HC though. Speaking of which why can't they just put Bellichick in the game? What is he too good for a video game? AS if I needed another reason to hate him. As for Robert You , he is currantly my starting QB for the Jets in my online franchise, until I find a better replacement.

Twisting my words around to make them illogical...

My point is that Madden is the sole NFL game, that being said, it should only include real NFL persons. The opinion that I am a horrible person because I wish to deny dying children their wish is absurd.

I can make the assumption more than two children with terminal illnesses wished to be in Madden last year, and this year. On the default rosters. Last year it was two non NFL persons, this year it is three. My point is two fold, first it only makes sense the two children in the game are part of the minority (in regards to those wishing to be). It is their dying wish, let them all in. Now if we don't let them all in, EA is passing judgement on which terminally ill child is deserving of his dying wish. Secondly, how many non NFL persons is acceptable?

I repeat, this is the only NFL game and these players are on default rosters.

If EA wishes to do this at the very least they could include them in a second roster file on every copy.

It was a simple fix last year, restart my franchise. It is a simple fix this year, restart my franchise. I just shouldn't have to.

I would have to confirm this, but I also assume (I admit the possibility of being wrong) based on the two children rule of the past two years, that this offer was pitched to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. If you believe that to be true, EA is either a truly benevolent company who understands they have to exclude many to truly make it special for two. Or that EA was making a PR move, which is good business sense. Or some combination of the two. Again, just my hunch, but it was mainly a PR move.

Re: Inclusion of Fictious NFL Persons

To me theres nothing wrong with putting the kids in the game, you can edit their abilities and make them so no team ever picks them up. The real problem is EA not including enough actual free agents. Think about it each team now in real life has a ton of guys who will get cut or dropped to the practice squad by the time the pre-season is over, yet EA never puts these players into the game. I think that is your real issue. And I agree with you on The Pats coach. It was just as stupid when MLB games would try to come up with clever fake names for Barry Bonds.
