Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here

Played an entire game, not really impressed; feels a lot like 10. I liked 10 a lot but this is a whole new year, i think i played 10 enough throughout las year. The lighting is definitely very impressive, but nothing else has really changed. The whole momentum thing...i don't even feel or see it.

This is definitely a year where i might skip out on the game. I was actually sort of bored playing it lol

That's called fluff and when they did just that they were also vilified for that.

Gameplanning and gameflow IMO are examples of moving the game forward yet we had posters who had ZERO clue what gameplanning/gameflow were all about ....so they start the "gimmick!" talk....

EA can't win for losing.
It doesn't matter what anyone posts because, according to you, if they have issues with the game, they are completely wrong or they are "bitching". Many people DID want a lot of changes simply because the game doesn't play particularly well to many folks. Judging by the consensus on these impressions, there is a lot of disappointment. I'm not going to try to paint a picture that isn't there. I call it like I see it. Much of the gameplay was not very much improved. I've never really been an NCAA player or fan, but after playing the demo for that game, I had high hopes for the same type of gameplay to show up in Madden. I know they added locomotion, but I honestly didn't notice it much.

Just because I really WANTED Madden to be this great revelation in football gaming, I'm not going to try to convince myself that it is just because I don't want to accept what it really is. Like the saying goes, "it is what it is".

The pump fake thing really irks me. I pump fake trying to get the Linebacker to bite over the middle he dosent i throw it any pass deflected. I go to look at the replay and the Safety covering a CORNER route bit hard as did the corner on the opp side of the field

The guy quoted me about strategy pad, and said EA can't win.

This wasnt an issue where half the community wanted a change and the other half is stuck in their ways.

Noone complained about the old presnap menu as far as I know, so what are you and other dood talking about?

I will say that I very much like the idea of a strategy pad, but I haven't played the demo yet...and I didn't like the old pre-snap controls , frankly...I thought ps2's were ok, 2k's were better...I'm open to change, and I think the demo's gettin' hated on a lot for this, and it's something we'll all be used to in 3 weeks.

This thread better get back to impressions and away from arguing about people's impressions realy fast.

Consider that a warning.

Perfectly said. Again they focus on something that doesn't need fixed to avoid the real problems.

I'm talking about "EA better innovate ... just don't screw with anything I have memorized!"

Maybe ... just maybe ... it's a gameplay change that might take more than a couple of hours to adjust to?

Even by the end of my first game, I was successfully making pre-snap adjustments using the Strategy Pad.

(I wasn't redesigning plays from scratch at the line which, I suspect is the hart of the complaint here.)
