I'm starting to think that EA doesn't care about the 3-4 defense

Out of anything that I have heard I have never heard EA talk about the effect of a 3-4 defense and reallyjust let us know there listening. Can we please here anything on the 3-4 defense??? At least let us know that your are hearing us.

We need double team blocks by offensive lineman, new depth chart design for a 3-4 defense, DE/OLB positional players in the draft. My whole point is there needs to be a change and it needs to happen this year. The 3-4 defense is so big of a part of football and how teams draft. The whole front seven you look for different type of players.

I want it to feel different when I am playing with a Demarcus ware which is a OLB in a 3-4 defense compared to Lance briggs which is a OLB in a 4-3 defense.

click on the link to get more a explation of what I would like to see:

Please let us know something!!!!

EA probably thinks that if they fix and improve line-play overall, it will in turn improve how the 3-4 works as well. Killing two birds with one stone. Unfortunately, they can't do either.

Could we at leaset get a different depth chart settings? MLB in a 3-4 defense really have differnet attributes as far as what makes a player a strong side lineback and a weak side linebacker....

Re: I'm starting to think that EA doesn't care about the 3-4 defense

I watched a show on ESPN, sorry, can't remember what it was called as I was just channel surfing at the time. They had a break down of the 3-4 defense in today's game, basically citing that it's little more than a trimmed down 4-3 with the LB basically blitzing or playing dedicated run coverage on nearly every play.

In offline play, I honestly couldn't tell a difference in 3-4 / 4-3 play in Madden, though I would suspect that the 3-4 would give you an advantage in the pass game with one extra defender with little lost in the running game due to the way that Madden plays run coverage.

Both defenses are messed up in Madden, linebackers just drop back a few feet into coverage and stand there doing nothing till someone catches the ball. No line play what so ever, defense in Madden is poorley done, hopefully the team steps it up this year.

I dont think the guys on the EA Sports Madden team have a high knowledge of football, they are big fans but knowledge wise they are not there yet. I am happy that they have brought a few college stars onto the designing roster.

^^^ So, a studio that produces an annual NFL game doesn't know anything about pro football, but yet WE, not the people who add in plays and formations at the studio, but WE know more than them.

If it weren't totally false, it would be ironic...

Even if they didn't know, I'm sure enough of us here have enlightened them.

The problem is not with the 3-4 itself. It's the blocking interaction. RARELY seen double teams, lack of contain AI and the lack of engaged player mobility kills defense, period. But it's worse for the 3-4 as the lack of double team blocks negates superior NGs, which is one of the keys to the 3-4.

As Madden fans say, maybe next year.

I am not trying to argue but I believe you are the one who is completely false. How advanced is Madden compared to another sports game such as MLB The Show 10?

I know the Show and Madden are two completely different games but really lets be honest, Madden 10 had nothing along the lines of gameplay that made me go "Wow this game can be a huge step in the right direction to realistic NFL gaming".

There is nothing too interesting or groundbreaking that we havent seen before. All of OS realized a couple days before launch that Pro-Tak isnt the type of technology Ian preached it to be in his blogs.
