When you absolutely know the screen is coming, what defensive play do you call? I'm only asking because I seem to have trouble stopping the screen. I've tried several man defenses, and even containment plays but haven't had much luck. Are there any specific plays you go to that have much success?

What I do is run a man defense, manually tell me DE's to cover the flats and then spotlight the HB. Its not a guaranteed stop, but I have hit the HB for a loss a time or two.

I play 2 Man coverage and manually control the linebacker responsible for covering the screen.

Another play that works sometimes is the Nickel 245 SS Blitz. If you have a good blitzing strong safety, you can disrupt the play in this manner as well. Again, take control of the linebacker on the halfback in this play as well.

man up and put your DE's in contain

manually control your LB to the side you think the screen will be.

I like to have my DEs do a contain and then either have a zone that covers the flats or man up. Either way the DE usually makes the play. My AI DE picked my brother off last night when I did a contain on a screen for a pick 6.

call velcro in the nickel formation. or just control a de n read the screen u should be able to stop it for minamal gain.

the only sure way to stop it is control a guy and go by the runningback. the only way the computer stops my screens is if they are playing man because they get to the reciever before my blockers get to him.

get in dime play man to man get my best player and defense and run him to the screen side b4 the snap and manually stay with the screen
