Should Madden consider adding COMPOSURE and CONSISTENCY ratings for players?

Just a thought, what do you think?.....

I think this element of attribute is the one area that is missing from the game.

Arent some players more consistent in playing up to their potential (ratings) while others can be great but then be equally poor. How is this defined?

Also, some players maintain their composure while others get easily rattled when things go amuck.....Should this be represented in the game as well?

thoughts

BTW, Im loving the distinction this year in player abilities and performances on the field. Finally Madden has met or even eclipsed what 2K Football was able to do in this area back in 2K5 and 2K8. Good Job EA!...Im really enjoying the complexity and diversity of this year's game!

Re: Should Madden consider adding COMPOSURE and CONSISTENCY ratings for players?

This is a feature, like many, that was in previous Madden's. It was a good idea, don't remember if it really impacted the game at all. In fact, I'm sure that it didn't, because all but the top flight rookies had poor composure ratings, and they still played fine.

If implemented well it could be interesting, but the way that it has been done, it was just another rating that had little impact on the gameplay.

I did a whole thread on Composure, if you search through my threads you will find it. They desperately need to translate difficulty a different way.

Re: Should Madden consider adding COMPOSURE and CONSISTENCY ratings for players?

I think this could be great, and actually might be the answer to draft flops/gems in franchise. sure the current system, isn't broken and it is too easy to scout, and there should still be middle and late round steals but 9 times out of 10 a guy rated 49 overall wont go in the 1st round. It just wont happen, guys drafted that high all have the physical ability to play and are pretty decent, the biggest question for most 1st rounders is the mental side of the NFL. Think Ryan Leaf, guy had it all, but consistency and composure. So guys that have high composure should progress, only increase and only increase slightly over his career. Guys that don't shouldn't progress much if any if they cant stay composed. And consistency could increase a lot, or decrease a lot of the player becomes unhappy. If done well wouldn't that just be neat-o.

Seriously this is an amazing idea.

I'm getting concerned that there are soooo many rating nowadays that I'm sure many just cancel each other out, rendering them useless.

EA will NEVER pass 2K if you ask me.

but back to your idea. Like it alot. It should be there. Honestly, something besides ratings need to take over....Cuz YET AGIN, ratings really on consider 5 core aspects and NOTHING more. WAY too many meaningless ratings.
