Re: Madden NFL 10 Video: Halftime Report (Chase @ E3)

Madden 10 has the better angles for halftime, but 2K5 has the superior audio work. I hate to say it, but the audio work seems to trump everything else here for me. I'd give up the halftime highlight angles in Madden 10 for the halftime audio of 2K5.

I guess it just says that a halftime show isn't quite right unless the audio is on point.

Considering I am pressed for time when I play and I like to get a game in in 45 mins I doubt I will be viewing much of the halftime show anyway.. Im glad they are trying to improve it but its not that important to me...

You're right about the initial start of a halftime, where they sum up the stats - it's almost verbatim what Berman says in 2K5. But the replays themselves aren't just simple rehashings; there's specific commentary to down/distance, situation, player, the play made, yardage gained, etc. And that occurs on both halftime and postgame highlight packages. The halftime you noted had one replay before the person quit out of it (couldn't hear it myself)

Well, they gave it a shot, just not really that good of one. I am not usually one to be negative on here and anything to upgrade presentation is nice but that was pretty damn weak.

They seriously need to add commentary and background music to these highlights... and they need to show the highlights in chronilogical order and get better logic when selecting which highlights to show. The highlights seem so random.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Video: Halftime Report (Chase @ E3)

Anyway, I made a wishlist thread about it, but do we really even need 10 highlights from the game we are playing with audio overlays?

I sya no. What we need is canned highlights from like two plays from two other games that are playing at the same time.

Then what we need is for a couple of guys to list all the other scores going around in the leage, and then finally we just need some canned video discussing our game. LIke Mooch and Deion talking about whether one team needs to get their running game going, or whether some Qb is throwing to many picks.

I dont know how hard it would be to sink replays with audio, but we dont even frikcen need it!

Again, just show a couple highlights from OTHER games- CANNED highlights which makes it easier, and then discuss our game, with maybe only one higlight. like the biggest play with some canned audio like "and look at this. What a play!" Well, better than that, but the point is you don't need a ton of replays from our game.

Besides, there will inevitably be screw ups when you do that, which will kill immersion. Thats why canned highlights form other games around the league is so much better. And you only need a couple.

And then you finish with canned audio discussing the stats of the game you are playing, turnovers, momentum, and what each team has to do to win.

No need for highlights of our game with audio.

Changes need to be made with audio. You couldn't blow this any worse. Like I said, it doesn't even sound professional.

It's time for new blood in that group.
