Yeah Im typically a skeptic, and my instinct with the screenshot is to auto-assume its a set up or something. I must say though that you have a point, I mean alot of stuff in the screenshot is directly from these boards, and my biggest concern for '10 is presentation, and that has been unbelievably brought up in hundreds of threads so while im not hook line and sinker yet, I have no reason to believe this game will not be much and proved and in line with what the devs are saying its going to be.

Am I impressed with the shot? Yes, in the sense that I see that it is an upgrade, and a very nice one. Am I froathing at the mouth over it? No, not at all. I believe the screen shot looks excellent. It does. Only a moron would say otherwise. It looks better than any other football game ever, including All Pro, etc. It is simply a really good shot. Period. Nothing more, nothing less. Does this mean I think the game is automatically going to be good? NO. You are assuming because people think the screen shot is excellent that they automatically think that the GAME will be excellent, or that they do not see that it still does have flaws. Perhaps there are some, but I am not one.

You have painted a world of black and white, where there are those who mindlessly believe the screen shot means the game will be the best of all time, and people like you. But there are far more shades of grey. You are as mindless in your refusal to admit that it is a really good screen shot as the people you made up in your head who believe the picture is perfect or that it means that the game will be good (I do not believe any one of those two necessary follows from a good screen shot). But perhaps you are too singleminded to think out side of childlike dichotomies, it seems...

Like I said, take the caricature you're making of everyone and retire it. Or better yet, I think you know what you should do with it...

You're probably an angry 2k fan boy, and like I said, this brings me joy, your misery, but at the same time, I pitty you for being the virgin that you are... taking a video game so seriously... only a virgin would...

So yeah, it's YOU that needs to get laid.

EDIT- For you mister "I see the world in only a childlike dichotomy."

You see? It isn't just that it is a nice looking screen shot. It's that the developers are listening and modifying the game to our wishes and suggestions. Not even 2K did that... I'd say that's reason to at least be happy with the direction things are going. But of course, maybe if I was a virgin like you and never tasted the sweetness that is the flesh of a woman, maybe I would think otherwise... living in a cold, black and white world devoid of the touch of a woman must be so hard.... you have my pity.

All that glitters ain't gold

I will wait to see much improved realistic gameplay and animation before i get caught up in the picture hype. Happen to me last year until I got deep into the game.

Just like the previous poster, I am old school and into realistic sports sim games.

What's up with people assuming that we are all idiots because we liked the screenshot. No one here said "OMG Madden 10 is going to be the best game ever because of that screenshot!!!!!!"...All we're doing is showing our enthusiasm for something new and fresh to the franchise....If that makes me "new school" or "googoo gaga" than so be it.

I'm all about gameplay myself, but don't insult my intelligence because I appreciate a great screenshot. If you look at all my posts on this thread, not once did I say that I think the game as a whole was going to be awesome based off that shot. This thread is about the picture posted, and people on here are excited about the picture...nothing more, nothing less...Fall back and let me be....Damn.....Hop off...

^^ I think this post should be spammed everywhere. It isn't that the game will be exactly what we want. It's that the developers are (apparently) making an attempt to put in what we want. A feature I have been asking for for a long time (short, medium and deep accuracy) is finally making it into the game. I asked for it in these forums (and a few other people did too, of course), and now it is in the game.

How is that not a reason to at least be happy? As I said in my response to the virgin who thinks in dichotomies, it isn't about the screen shot- its about the fact that they are trying to put in the specific things we have asked for- and again, not even the Almighty 2k did that...

Why can't people be happy for the screenshot?

It has a bunch of small things like hand towels, superbowl patches and endzones, field blur.

All this stuff, even though small, can make one believe even greater that they have fixed bigger issues in gameplay since they had the time to add these small details.

And for people who are "old-school", I can't see why you guys wouldn't be happy to see the refs and chain gang back.

Why bring 2k into this? What EA is doing is nothing new and many devs take notice of their users.

The screenshot is good, the tidbits are too, but I'm reserving my judgement on M10 for gameplay videos.

What the screenshot tells me is 'Yeah, we're reading'. Let's continue to point out issues and what should be improved and what is useless, not get carried away and just kiss Ians (or the other guy's) *** because he has answered your post or mentioned you on Twitter.

kutgw, hopefully things are going to improve in the gameplay front and some sneak peak is due soon

I think it's safe to say that everyone is happy to see all these "little" things back in the game. That said, these little things should be expected to be "in the game" since that's EA's mantra. On top of that, many of these things were in the game on the old outdated legacy gen systems, so again, no earth-shattering updates as of yet. Having said that, I am feeling WAY more confident that the new team will make great strides in all areas of the game based on their communication here over the past several months.

Lets just allow the updates come, and hopefully all of us will hear little tidbits about specific areas that interest us. I think we all agree that the shiny new screen-shots are worthless if they are attached to the same gameplay we have dealt with the past few years. Gameplay aspects such as being able to limit the CPU run game to less than 50 yards per game with minimal effort, or not being able to generate any real pass rush are no longer acceptable .... and I think the devs agree!
