Who's to Blame for Cheese Play?

I've made a blog posting on the ever fun debate on cheese play and I've went over the responsibilities of the gamers and the developers in this ordeal. After positing it though, I've thought that this would be better expand into a thread though. Read my blog first, then reply on there or here. Why is cheese such an issue? Will cheese play restrict the potential of online play? Do you agree with my stance? Is it impossible for cheese to be completely removed or unsuccessful?

My opinion is that you can't ever rid any game of cheese, someone will always find an exploit.

Also, cheese should never be used as an excuse for a feature being left out.

What features do you have in mind would be left out that cheese would potentially hold it back?

I agree with the first part...people always find the exploit that why it's not fun to play online...

I dont think anyone is to blame...its just the way it is.

Fatigue.....Ian said it was besically removed to counter online no-huddle cheesers by NOT fatiguing the defense.

The easiest way to stop cheese is to make plays less effective when you overuse them. In reality defenses would begin to adapt if you ran the same play out of the same formation again and again. Yes, in a few instances a team will run the same play over and over again and dominate in the NFL, but this is a rare. The game AI could react to make bad things (drops, fumbles, etc) happen if you were cheesing.

This seems like it would be easy to program since the game can already remember highlights from the actual game.

The constant no-huddle issue is a little tougher because teams actually do runt his in the NFL and if you add fatigue the defense would have to be affected as well.
