Well I certainly hope I dont run into that anytime soon but there are just some things with EA that I know will happen and releasing buggy software is one of them.
I guess. Buggy software is one thing though, an entirely unplayable game is another. Sure, maybe the others and I are in the minority, but this is pathetic.

I mean I shelled out 60 plus for this thing and I found out I couldn't play my franchise until this "patch" came out. So I waited patiently. Then it comes out and now I basically get the same game freezing piece of crap except it has the computer hold the ball a little longer before the snap to comfort me. Awesome! Thanks, EA!

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here

I'm on the PS3 and since downloading the newest patch last night I have yet to play or even start to play one single game on or off line. After only a few plays the game freezes, at which time I'm forced to bring up the XMB and quit back out to the main menu. It's at this point that my PS3 will completely shut it self down and reboot.

Tonight I decided to try and deleted everything saved on my HDD with Madden attached to it and try again.

After re-downloading the patch the game will now not even load past the initial start up screen with Favre; it just stays on LOADING........LOADING.......LOADING..........

So as of 11 O' clock est. I'm now the proud owner of a $65 Blu-ray coaster.

Bravo Tiburon. Bravo.

honestly, the game feels the same. The field degradation is weak. It should get tore up in rain just as bad as the uniforms get. The patch for NCAA had a much more noticeable effect. I do like the longer time for cpu snap though.

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here

My personal opinion w/ this second patch:

My game never froze until I got this patch. Yesterday it froze three times, twice in CAT and once starting a new franchise. It hasn't frozen since, so I'm just hoping yesterday was a bad day.

I only played a game in heavy snow. Is the field degradation only supposed to affect the rain? I expected to see snow kicked up or different levels of it on different parts of the field.

QB taking time to snap the ball is great, except on punts, but I can deal w/ that. Funny when the CPU kicked a field goal, it snapped it almost exactly coming out the play call screen.

The penalties are crazy. Me and a friend played w/ clipping, false start, and holding 75. At one time their was one of those penalties every play for 7 seven straight plays. Lowering holding to 65, it still kept coming too much. I feel as if EA has went from one extreme to the other, hopefully the penalty slider helps this so it's ok.

The CPU seems to run the ball more which is great. I have to actually worry about the run game.

All in all, as long as the freezing doesn't become a constant it's pretty good. I'm disappointed it takes EA three times to get a game right (Right being a stretch). But I will also say I haven't had this much fun w/ Madden since 2005. I also think CPU sliders could solve Robo QB too.

I think my career best was 3 consecutive games without a freeze. It's pretty much 50/50 for me though on average.

Has anyone else had the computer punt the ball with under 5 seconds left in the first half? And they're in field goal range. I just saw it for the first time today. Never happened to me before the patch. Didn't know if it happened to anyone else.
