Acreyman's sliders (post patch - Franchise tested)

XBOX360
So I found a slider set I liked and then the patch came....we all know what happened. I liked the NFL on FOX sliders but I allways thought they were a little on the easy side. I used those as a base and came up with these.

The most important thing to remember with these sliders is use them with either BEGINNER or ASK MADDEN playcalling. Dont knock it till you try it cause I was totally against this idea at first. It keeps you from calling money plays and keeps the game honest. Its kinda like your the player and you are running the plays the coach calls. Give it a few games and let me know what you think.

The great thing about these settings is they are HARD. You will hate playing teams with good QB's cause they are going to light you up and the same with good RB's...watch out.

Playclock = ON
QTR Length = 14min with 20 sec ACC clock runoff
INJ = 55
Fatigue = 80 (good rotation of back and players here)
Game Speed = FAST (very important)
Player Threshold = 75

PLAYER SUBS
Do what you want with these cause this is really personal pref...but if you want a good rotation out there....
Most of my postions are 79/80 QB and O line is 1/80

Penalties....I messed around post patch and noticed the false starts occur more post patch so I turned it down. Supposedly they fixed the holding slider but I have not messed with it much.
These are in order as you see them on the screen (XBOX360)
100 - 55 - 40 - 54 - 100 - 100 - 100 - 60 - 100 - 100 - 100

Slider USER / COMP

QB Accuracy 6 / 28
Pass Block 75 / 75
WR Catch 35 / 43

Broken tkl 35 / 43
Run Block 42 / 64
Fumble 10 / 10

Pass D
Reaction 30 / 50
INT 0 / 0
Pass Rush 66 / 75

Rush D
Reaction 30 / 57
Block Shed 29 / 41
Tackling 37 / 47

Just a little food for thought. If you are playing witht the Lions and go to the SB then you are using the wrong sliders. That team sucks and you should at best go 8-8 and thats stretching it. These sliders will make you loose games if your team cannot hang. I tested these mainly using the Cowboys in pre-season Franchise mode. I checked them using the Bills, Lions, and a mid level team like the 49'ers and got good results. No matter what I did I could not beat the Colts with the Lions...forget about it. Build your team up over the years and it will pay off.

I am going to post my resutls for the last 5 games I played using the Cowboys. I am getting GREAT games and I am loving the game right now so I had to share. Hope you like. Remember...BEGINNER or ASK MADDEN. If they work for you with regular playcalling then great.

Re: Acreyman's sliders (post patch - Franchise tested)

Game 1. Bucs at Cowboys
Bottom line, Tony Romo threw a very un-characteristic 4 INT's that cost me the game. Compared to last year I threw only 12 INT's all year. Lots of Defense in this game and I had a very difficult time running the ball.

1 2 3 4 Final
TB 7 3 6 7 23
DAL 10 3 0 3 16

Total Offense - Bucs = 300 Cowboys = 331

Rushing 173 96

Passing 127 235

First Down 17 17

Turnovers 1 4

3rd % 8-17 (47%) 9-15 (60%)

Time of POS 27:37 28:23

Passing TD / INT Rating
DAL T. TOMO - 19/38 247yds 1 / 4 51.8

TB J. Freeman 14/33 149yd 0 / 1 43.6

Rushing ATT / YDS AVG TD / FUM
DAL M. Barber 25 / 77 3.0 0 / 0
F. Jones 4 / 18 4.5 0 / 0

TB Davis 14 / 40 2.8 1 / 0
Miles 11 / 56 5.0 1 / 0
(QB) J. Freeman 7 / 71 10.1 0 / 0
Yeah...the QB torched me.

Biggest surprise was the QB decided to run a few times and he killed me. I couldnt do squat in the 2nd half and it was a great game. One of the INT's was a hail mary at the end of the game that ROMO threw. I didnt post receiving stats cause I just dont think they are that important. If you want I can go back and write them down and post them later.

Re: Acreyman's sliders (post patch - Franchise tested)

Ok so I noticed the first stats I posted did not align properly so I will try to make them easier to read. 2nd game vs Giants with an injured Eli Manning. I should have lost this game. Brandon Jacobs had a monster game but the G-men lost the ball 3 times which helped me win.

Final Dal 30 G-Men 24

Dal 0 20 0 10
NY 0 0 3 21

Total Offense
Dal - 307 NY - 497

Rushing
Dal - 175 NY - 208

Passing
Dal - 132 NY - 289 (Lots of passing 4th qtr for g-men)

First Down
Dal - 10 NY - 22

3rd Down %
Dal 4-14 NY 8/19

Time of Possession
Dal - 20:26 NY 35:34

Passing
Dal Tony Romo RTG 75.9 11/25 for 143yds 44% 1TD 0 INT
NY Troy Smith RTG 61.1 26/49 for 294yds 53% 1TD 2 INT

Rushing
Dal
M. Barber 18 ATT 47 YDS 2.6 AVG 0 TD 0 FUM
F. Jones 10 ATT 101 YDS 10.1 AVG 2 TD 0 FUM

NY

R. Brown 6 ATT 29 YDS 4.8 AVG 0 / 0
T. Smith (QB) 3 ATT 19 YDS 6.3 AVG 0 / 0

F. Jones is rated an 89 while Barber is a 90. After this game I am serioulsy considering starting Jones over Barber (4th year) it is a contract year and my concern is that Jones cant take the workload. We will see.

Re: Acreyman's sliders (post patch - Franchise tested)

So the last game was an example of what a good back will do to you. Here is the example of what a great QB will do. I got smashed in this game. Drew Brees was almost unstoppable but I got realistic stats in the game. I had a last second throw to the endzone but it got swatted down but man it was a good game.

Final Score = Siants 34, Dallas 25
NO 7 3 14 10
DAL 0 13 3 9

Offense
NO - 438 Dal - 380

Rushing
NO - 76 Dal - 82

3rd Down
NO - 7/13 Dal - 9/18

Time of Pos
NO - 26:11 Dal - 29:49

Passing
NO
Drew Brees RTG 116.0 28 of 42 for 369 yds 66% 4 TD 1 INT

Dal
Tony Romo RTG 90.5 26 of 43 for 313 yds 60% 1 TD 0 INT

Rushing
Dal
Marion Barber 17 Att for 51 yds 3.0 avg 1TD 0 fum
Felix Jones 9 Att for 24 yds 2.6 avg 0TD 0 fum

NO
Reggie Bush 9 Att for 29 yds 3.2 avg 0 / 0
Chester Taylor 7 Att for 47 yds 6.7 avg 0 / 0
For once the QB didnt scramble on me....he is more a pocket QB.

Re: Acreyman's sliders (post patch - Franchise tested)

Dont ask me why but the CPU scheduled the G-MEN again early in the year. The good thing is that I get to compare the numbers from both games and see if they are different. B. Jacobs still ran hard but I contained him way better than last game. I also started F. Jones to see what would happen and the game was still close. Eli still injured. G-men had a last minute drive and almost scored.

NY, 17 DAL, 26

NY 7 3 0 7 - 17
DA 7 13 0 6 - 26

Offense
NY - 340 Dal - 298

Rushing
NY - 122 Dal - 147

Passing
NY - 218 Dal - 151

First Downs
NY - 14 Dal - 19

3rd %
NY - 5/11 Dal - 10/15

Time of Poss
NY - 22:47 Dal - 33:13

Passing
NY Troy Smith 19/28 for 241 yds 67% 79.6 RTG 0 TD 1 INT
DAL Tony Romo 17/25 for 151 yds 68% 80.6 RTG 1 TD 1 INT

Rushing
Dal
Felix Jones 24 for 110yds 4.5 AVG 0 td 1 fum
Marion Barber 14 for 37 yds 2.6 AVG 0 / 0

NY
Brandon Jacobs 14 / 92yds 6.5 avg 1 / 0
A, Brown 6 / 22yds 3.6 avg 1 / 0

Just compare these numbers with the last game against the giants. Not so sure Eli would have helped much this game but the Giants didnt give the ball away as much as last time.

Re: Acreyman's sliders (post patch - Franchise tested)

This was a WILD game vs the EAGLES! To start off the 2nd half Miles Austin fumbled the opening kickoff only to have my rookie LOLB scoop it up and return in 70 yds for a TD. That TD turned out to be the difference in this game as I barely won 31 - 24. Donovan was Donovan...in real life he tends to light up the Cowboys and this game was no different. They would have scored with 2 mins to go up but they fumbled at the 10. I put together a last minute drive to win it.

Re: Acreyman's sliders (post patch - Franchise tested)

Let me know how yall do with these. I like sliders alot and dont see me changing anything untill the whole season is finished...might tweak but you cant judge sliders with just one game. As you can see the results are varied. I finished a game recently where Romo threw 3 TD's and had a rating of 145.2. U never know and as you can see that is not the norm. you will have good games and bad.
