Zero Custom HUM/CPU FRANCHISE SLIDERS! by: dfos81

Post Patch updates!
9/29/09- Coaching schemes setup for all 32 teams!

And the Offenses aggression is up by 10 for most teams now and lowered the D aggression for most teams, with base 4-3 schemes(except the Eagles, Ravens, and Jets) to 0.

This gives really accurate simmed stats and helps the gameplay!

Added slider range low-high. Read * below for details(still work in progress)

Discoverd Pass D RT is the key to both hum non user controlled sacks(according to http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorysta...seasonType=REG avg was 2 sacks and 1 int per gm. last season) and more sacks w/ less ints in general(thanks to all the feedback).

Upon further review the consensus was Fast(harder) TH 50.

Normal Th 50 can be used, just up the cpu sliders to high-end and use mid to low end hum sliders.

I appreciate all the feedback guys! Thanks.

After a few weeks and hours upon hours of CPU ai tests, injury test, fatigue test, speed test, coaching schemes/philosophies, etc. etc. etc.

You get the point.

Enjoy, these are my most accurate form of football sliders I've ever played with.
I hit every aspect to get the player to perform based on ratings and used a combo of other Sliders on these forums to put it all together and eventually have a final franchise slider set based off skill and teams ratings,

Also using IQ to measure if the sliders are about right for you( if IQ drastically changes after 3-4 games then sliders need adjusting). Goal being less IQ change the better.

No MY SKILL to worry about jumping back and forth, never giving you the chance to really get better.

You want Backs to rotate, I got it.

You want to see your young stud backup D-Lineman get in, I got it.

You want to see real sim pressure w/ players ratings shining through, players speed showing up on tape! I got it!

You want CPU to run w/ an attitude! I got it!

You wanna see Qbs throw more air balls but with the Dbs dropping more picks then catching! I GOT IT!

You want to see defensive battles! Realistic NFL scores, not 40-80pt games.

Its all based on the theory of less is better and basically the lower the sub-sliders are set at, the higher your making your IQ w/o using My Skill(your iq will still change w/ custom sliders).
The key is to try and get the sliders set around a point were the IQ doesn't increase/decrease by very many points.

So I call these Zero Custom Franchise Sliders, I started out at Zero for most every slider, so it will take some time but heres my latest updates!

These are it! Enjoy!

Game Options:

Play Call Style- Hardcore(seems to keep cpu using the whole playbook and all your losing is the rewind feature on replays). Personally pausing and watching the replay is better imo.

15min qtrs
25sec runoff

Camera setting Wide(so you can have better periphrial vision on offense and defense).

Gamespeed: Fast w/ TH 35.

Normal is the the median between all the other speed options guys have posted. Use high-end cpu sliders w/ low-mid end hum sliders on Normal speeds.
Threshold seems to be a handicap for the slow players when its above 50, and doesn't look lifelike. This also helps the cpu generated sacks.

Injury 55 ...(I don't wanna see a season ending injury every game. If the guys injury prone though, he will be out on a consistent basis anyway. So at least health plays a factor but not too crazy).

Fatigue- 45...(This and sub in/out play a valuable part of getting backups in and especially at the right places like rb and d-line).

Auto instant replays-optional
Fight for fumble-optional
Motion sensor funct.-0
-------------------------------------------------------
Penalties:

Note:
You'll see about 10 penalties per game and they usually balance eachother out. No more leading the league w/ least penalties against.
Just think of facemask as pass interference this year b/c Pass int. may get called once every 3 games. It never got called on 100 though.

Offside-100
False start-100
Holding-49
Face Mask-60
Off Pass int-99
Def Pass int-99
KR/PR int-99
Clipping-85
Int Grounding-99
Roughing the Passer-99
Roughing the Kicker-99

Now for my "MEAT & POTATOES"! ZERO SIMLISTIC SLIDERS.
Finely tuned for Franchise guys who want to enjoy seeing players ratings meaning something.
And I present,

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

HUM//CPU ZERO Sliders:

Sliders range (low-high) now.

That way guys that had a 90+ overall team and were having easy wins would have a better challenge w/ high end sliders for cpu.
And guys that use the Lions(in other words, low rated teams) could choose the low-end cpu sliders w/ high-end to mid-level hum sliders and still have competetive games.

I've always belived in the teams ratings, player ratings have always played a part in how the sliders play out. Especially w/ this years Madden b/c so many players have a big discrepency in ratings.
1 will be 94 and another will be 59 or lower.

So if they all actually played to there exact ratings, it would also be a huge discrepency in pts, yds, etc. When a strong team meets a weak team.

So basically what I'm doing is narrowing down that discrepency w/ sliders. So now games will be closer more consistently.

Ratings still matter but its kind of like the TH, fast guys wont be 5-10yds faster right off the line, they will be more like 2-3yds instead.

Thats another reason Fast is really good to play, the holes are tighter and close faster.

Passing: *17

Qb Acc- 18-28//18-36*

Pass Blk- 0-10//0-26*...(Suction blking is not taking over anymore, this interacts w/ pass rush.).

Wr Cth- 25-35//20-30*
Rushing: *10

Brk tkl- 35-55//55-60*...(started at 60, lowerd to see more defense being played, less WRs and Dbs breaking tackles, is a good thing.)

Run blk- 35-45//55-75*...(running shouldn't be a given to stop the cpu, and it shouldn't be a given that you can run on every team)

Fumble-30//60*...(This is really optional, if you wanna see more fumbles, drop that bad boy by 5-10 clicks and you'll see about 3 or 4 fumbles per game. The Zero slider theory doesnt work for fumbles b/c this slider actually works the way it should. So 50 is just right based on players ratings and of course the players ability to cover up when supposed to).

Pass D: *14

RT-0-10//0-35*...( this is the key to ridding the Robo-Qb, it forces qbs to read more defense and actually hold the ball too long at times, seeing about 2-6 sacks per game and on 3rd and longs now! Also increases the chance for more sacks than ints! Really cool)

Ints-0//0-25...(I see more drops then ints now, ratings being most prevelant)

Pass Rush-75-95//50-65...(updated 9/7/09)

Rush D: *17

RT-0//1-26...(This is set to 0 v. the 0 blk sliders for Again players ratings being most prevelant).

Blk Shed-0//0-16...(This is set to 0, for the same reasons as the above, players ratings being most prevelant v. the 0 blk sliders.)

Tkl- 45-48//48-58...(Post-Patch. With Cpu's brk tackle at 60 changed to 55 for defense, you'll see dominate backs take a whole team to stop and you gotta have good run D to contain the top tier backs, avg backs can play well if you don't get them at the line of scrimmage, so controlling the line of scrimmage plays a bigger part when the CPU can actually run over your lil Dbs now! So you gotta learn to finish tackles w/ the gang tackling feature this year, swarming D is how teams do it in real life).
---------------------------------------------------------

I aslo recommend that you play testing the sliders in Franchise games only(even if its a half in preseason) b/c Play Now games will not use any coaching strategy.
Hope these tips help!

Special Teams:

Fg Pwr-58...(I use Shaun Suisham so I need the power this years Madden has him terrible, but I still miss b/c accuracy is default and his acc. sucks)

Fg Acc-50

Punt Pwr-70-90 ...(updated 9/7/09 I barely get 43yds a punt w/ Hunter Smith and this also helps the cpu to pin you back if they have a good punter. Punters w/ 99 or 98 pwr acc need to be no higher than 70.)

Punt Acc-60-80...(Take punt w/ acc 98 or 99 down to 60 Cpu can actually pin you back now! WOW!)

Kickoff Pwr-50

Coaching Schemes:

Select all 32 teams going into franchise, this way you can adjust coaching sliders. On Defense 60/0 for the Base 4-3 D teams, up to 60/20 for the 3-4 base more aggressive teams.

On Offense, only a few teams need fixing, based on rookie coaches and rookie qbs, so for the teams that do need some adjustments on Offense, the low would be 40/40 and high is 60/60.

The best way to see elite guys(D. Ware, S. Merriman) getting 15-20 sacks was changing all 3-4 schemes to 4-3(just for simmed games) and fixing depth charts so the best OLb will start at DE.

Updated 9/7/09

I will list how mine is setup, I based this off league stats from 08. I pretty much adjusted all the teams that looked like the stats needed to be shifted run/pass, low/high aggressions.
So teams like Pats, Saints, Cards, Chargers etc. would show up as the top offenses they are.
and vice versa for the stronger run teams w/ strong defenses or young qbs.

Note: 50=balanced, the lower the number means its favoring the left side philosphy more so. So obviously anything over 50 would be favoring the right side.
The most aggressive Offensive teams at 60/60(thats 60 on run/pass and 60 for aggression).

On Defense all teams set at 60 on run/pass and aggression 20 being the most aggressive.

So 60/20 for most aggressive D teams.

Note: 50=balanced, the lower the number means
its favoring the left side philosphy more so. So
obviously anything over 50 would be favoring
the right side.
1. scheme- 4-3 for all teams
Be sure to sub OLB's to DE's after you change
the schemes from 3-4 to 4-3.

(for more accurate simmed stats, teams will still
use the 3-4 coaches PB when you play them, just
auto re-order depth chart when you get in the
game OR BETTER YET, auto reorder before you
start the game. You just have to remember to
re-do the subs again after the game for more
accurate simmed stats).

Good thing is theres only about 7(3-4teams) to do
this to.

If you feel a specific team is not getting enough passing yds, running yds, sacks, or ints. Adjust the coaching schemes accordingly.

It works, you'll just have to tinker w/ each teams(coaching scheme) until you get what you want.

So really the teams that are base 4-3 D(except Eagles, Ravens, and Jets) are set at 0 now and the teams that are base 3-4 are set at 20 on aggression and changed to a 4-3 scheme w/ OLB's being De's now.

All offenses except for a few had aggression increased by 10. This really helps give better games and stats for the season.

This may seem like alot of changes for some but its all well worth it. Who wants to keep playing 30-40 pt games, every game. Not ME!

Don't mess around or the CPU will win!

Play a game or half and let me know how it works out(In franchise mode). Enjoy fellas, any questions just PM me. Thanks

23-30 at half. Redskins vs Seahawks. I have 2 sacks and one was a safety. I then returned the safety kick for a TD, then they drove and scored. Then I returned that kick for a TD.

The pass rush seems nonexistent and the sacks were user and then a coverage sack. I also had to bump up catching because I dropped 4 straight wide open first down passes.

I absolutely love the CPU game with these. I play on Normal with the threshold at 5, and Buffalo really had me working as the Cowboys. But my team dropped 6 balls in the first half. I couldn't really get much of a run game going either 1.7 ypc with Barber on 16 carries. Also I couldn't get any kind of a pass rush from my CPU teammates, I control the safety. But again I love the CPU game with these please advise on my problems.

Re: Zero Custom HUM/CPU FRANCHISE SLIDERS! by: dfos81

Just played a great game. I was the Dolphins and the CPU was the Chiefs. I ended up winning 52-45. The game was exciting and competitive throughout. I must say though, these settings are somewhat wide open and almost arcadey at times.

There were literally dozens of broken tackles and 60+ yard runs and catches on both sides of the ball (Ronnie Brown had 282 rushing yards as well as around 125 receiving yards). The passing game was pretty solid but it was mainly long gains. Basically, these sliders are quite offensively geared. The fact that there were almost 100 total points speaks for itself (10 min qtrs, 15 sec runoff)

These sliders are VERY fun but not as 'realistic' as others (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!). I've only played one game, so I'll have to play a few more for a fair judgment, but overall great job on these!
