PS3 Madden 12 Roster - 2013-14 Season Free Agents/Rookies (from Madden 13, not M25)

This is the most current PS3 roster for Madden 12. This roster includes updated Free Agency players from the Spring 2013 NFL free agency period. This roster also includes the 2013 NFL Rookie draft class (Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel, Dion Jordan ... EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, etc) the players with purple faces were changed to Kickers and released, the players were then recreated by me (from within the PS3 Madden 12 game, not Hex edited or whatever) and were given the same corresponding stats as their purple face counterparts. I do not know if these player attributes are based on Madden 13's last roster update, or by FBG ratings. I simply replaced the broken players from "clubfight's" file upload and gave them the same attributes they had. I did mess up on Jimmy Graham. He has only 1 year experience instead of 2 (according to the Madden 13>12 roster; these are all wrong, but I do not know how to change/hex edit this). I didn't notice this until it had been saved. Feel free to remake him again if that's important to you. All the replaced players have their original birthdays and hometowns and correct height/weight etc. Yes, the faces aren't perfect... This is not my fault. EA's create-a-player choices suck.

Changes:
-purple faces; cut/moved to K: Luck, Dalton, RG3, Cam, Ingram, J.Graham, Gronk, Revis
-created players: Luck, Dalton, RG3, Cam, Ingram, J.Graham, Gronk, Revis
-cut D.Garrard from Jets (retired)
-cut A.Hernandez/lowered attributes/moved to K
-signed T.Tebow to NE

I take no credit for the majority of work done on this roster. I edited the purple face players from the roster that "clubfight" uploaded in this thread: here. Which (as I understood it) "clubfight" converted from the "Madden 25 Roster" originally uploaded by "JorEL13" from this thread: over here. I posted this in a new thread because, frankly, it seems some people prefer others to not upload in "their" threads.

If anyone is interested, I plan to change a lot of player attributes at some point before pre-season begins. I can upload them later. After simulating through one season in franchise mode on Madden 12, I noticed almost all of the 2013 rookies jumped considerably in progression after season 1. Most players between 69 OVR to 80+ OVR jumped up between 3-10 points OVR (Eric Fisher was +10 OVR after the season) regardless of playing time/stats. More often than not, most of the '13 class players were up between 4-7 points. I am thinking that all or most of the rookies from 2013 class must have an A or B Potential rating. This is likely going to be a problem after season 3 of a franchise. Some 3rd string QBs could progress to being the starting QB without any playing time or quality playing time/stats. I realize that players progress based on their potential and not stats, but there could be 10-15 starting quarterbacks from the 2013 draft class by season 3 in franchise mode... not likely to actually happen in the NFL, at least not in my opinion. Chime in with opinions or thoughts of how to fix/change this. Also, any thoughts on whether or not EA changed their rosters on Madden 25, so that they might not be compatible with 12/13 even if edited? I personally think EA is too lazy to re-format the rosters, based on years of just keeping the same roster file and shipping new versions with the same basic rosters that were slightly updated. Actually I'm pretty sure EA sees Madden as nothing more than a cash cow since they acquired the rights to NFL exclusively. This leads me to believe that Madden 13 and Madden 12 might enjoy the Madden 25 roster update again, just like last year. If that’s the case, we may be starting over in August with all new rosters from the Madden 25 game anyway, so the extra work in editing the '13 class because of excessive progression might be a waste of time.

Instructions:
-Download
-Unzip on a PC
-Move the unzipped "PS3" folder and all of its contents to a USB drive
-Plug in your USB drive to your PS3
-Turn on PS3
-Select the folder called "Saved Data Utility (PS3tm)"
-Select "USB Device"
-highlight the "Madden NFL 12 - ROSTER-CUSTOM" file and press triangle
-highlight "Copy" and press X
-the file is now in your PS3 Utility Folder titled Madden NFL 12, load the game, load the file, and check out the rosters in-game.

Note: I'm 99.9% sure this is NTSC (North America & others). Not sure how to convert to PAL. If someone does, please re-post it in this thread and identify it as the PAL version. Also if anyone updates this roster, or converts a Madden 25 roster to Madden 12 for PS3, feel free to add that here as well. Or just post cat videos. Everyone loves cat videos.

Man, this looks great!

If someone could convert this to PAL that would be amazing. I'm not sure on how to convert NTSC to PAL but I'm sure one of you out there can, right?

In desperate need of an update for my Madden. Thanks guys.

I read something about one of the 2K game's rosters being converted somewhere, but I have no clue on how to convert these. And that may have even been a PC game. I only use consoles for Madden and NCAA. Oh how I wish EA would bring Madden, NCAA, or NHL back to the PC...

But yea, if anyone can chime in about converting PS3 save files from NTSC to PAL, I know there's at least a few hundred people out there that would be thankful!

Thanks for this.

Couple of comments:

Alex Barron (currently on raiders) and Jay Richardson (I think he's a FA) are missing.

And the game freezes when I try to do a fantasy draft with this roster. Any ideas?

Credit should go to JorEL13 and clubfight for creating the 2013 draft class and hex editing it to Madden 12 for PS3 (respectively). I only spent a few hours creating the replacement players of the purple face guys and matching their attributes, and also some franchise mode simulation to verify the roster was working and that the created players were progressing properly (which they are, but probably too much imho).

Barron and Richardson could be user created within the Madden 12 creation mode if nobody ends up doing any further hex or roster editing . That's what I did with the purple face players. You could use FBGratings . com for attributes.

Also the game freezing on the fantasy draft is most likely caused by there being too many players in total (because of all the 2013 rookies), or possibly because there are too many free agents. Anyone have a fix/opinion on this issue?

Roster Update #1: The Quarterbacks

After some testing in franchise mode, almost every team had a 90+ OVR quarterback by season 3 with the previous roster. I think it was 22 teams with a 90+ and 27 teams with an 88+ OVR quarterback after 2 SEASONS... that is ridiculous. Apparently only 5 NFL teams won't have an elite quarterback. So anyway, I edited the quarterback ratings to more accurately reflect the landscape of the NFL. There are now 6 teams with QBs of 79 OVR or below, and 16 teams with a QB of 85 OVR or below. After testing, this results in a more balanced franchise mode. Also I changed QB SPD ratings based on 40 times. (more below) Also, before anyone flips, after testing in franchise, Andrew Luck progresses +7 or more in season 1, and +5 or more in season 2, making him one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL after 2 seasons. This was after changing his OVR to an 84. If this bothers you, you can always change it. However, if you're want to argue that Luck's rating should be a 90 or whatever, take a look at some numbers:
Comp%....Att/G....Avg/Att...Yds/G....QB Rating
54.1........39.2......7.0.........273.4....76.5
60.8........37.9......6.4.........242.7....79.1
Can you guess which stats belong to Luck, and which are Nick Foles?

The 2013 Rookie Quarterbacks:
I evaluated the 2013 draft class pre-combine. I made some minor revisions after the draft.
Player............40yd....SPD...OVR....THP
EJ Manuel.......4.65.....83.....77......92
Geno Smith.....4.59.....87*....76.....91............*87 SPD, 70AGI, 70ACC
Matt Barkley....4.84....72......75.....85
Mike Glennon...4.94.....65.....73......90
Landry Jones...5.11.....53.....73......87
Matt Scott......4.69.....81.....70.....89
Ryan Nassib ....5.06.....55......70.....95
Tyler Wilson.....4.95....64......70.....88
Tyler Bray.......5.05.....56......68.....95
Zac Dysert......4.83.....72......68.....92

I also made this chart as a way to translate 40yd times into Madden SPD Attributes: (I compared the 40 times of a bunch of Madden players; this was the most mathematical conversion I could come up with. Players like Larry Fitzgerald, Wes Welker, Vernon Davis, Trindon Holliday, Blaine Gabbert, Tarvaris Jackson, and a bunch of other player's SPD ratings make no mathematical sense whatsoever. So this is the best I could come up with based on Madden's ratings)
40yd SPD
4.39..99
4.4....98
4.45..95
4.5....92
4.55..89
4.6....86
4.65..83
4.7....80
4.75..77
4.8....74
4.85..71
4.9....68
4.95..64
5.0....60
5.01..59
5.05..56

And I did this one for STR ratings:
Reps STR
40...99
39...98
38...97
37...96
36...95
35...94
34...93
33...92
32...91
31...90
30...89
29...88
28...87
27...86
26...85
25...84
24...83
23...82
22...81
21...80
20...79
19...78
18...76
17...74
16...72
15...70
14...67
13...64
12...61
11...58
10...55
9.....50

I figured I would include these in case anyone wants to edit player attributes but doesn't know where to start. A good database with player 40 times and reps, including pro days and combine numbers is nfl draft scout. Check it out here: Holliday,
AP. (as you can see, in Madden a 4.40 and a 4.21 both apparently equal a 98 SPD...)

I intend to edit HB, WR, and TE ratings for all players too. Also I will edit more of the 2013 draft class as well. I evaluated most of the talent pre-draft and haven't touched any of the positions except for QBs thus far.

If anyone would like to re-evaluate T's, G's, C's, DE's, DT's, LB's, CB's, or FS's/SS's have a crack at it and upload the roster file here. I have already evaluated 80+ K's & P's too, just need to make the changes to this roster file. Also if anyone makes changes, please only do one full position per roster upload and list what was changed. (Example: changed attributes, including SPD, STR, & OVR for most of the MLB's) also use the most current roster file so that it includes all previous changes.

Re: PS3 Madden 12 Roster - 2013-14 Season Free Agents/Rookies (from Madden 13, not M2

I appreciate the work you're doing, but have you considered just doing FBG ratings for Madden 12? They have the most accurate ratings that I know of.

Their system is also good for adopting it to the rookie class.

Also, reps on bench press = strength isn't necessarily a good idea.

Firstly, people with long arms are at a disadvantage. It's significantly harder to bench 30x with say 36 inch arms then it is with 30 inch arms.

Secondly, it's really only a solid indication of upper body strength.

If you use reps = strength, you're going to get some wacky results.

JMP ratings are also wacky on the default roster, if you compare them to combine performances. One that comes to mind is Aaron Maybin who has a 40+ vertical, yet his JMP rating is in the 70's.

I would say speed ratings need to be refined. The ceiling is way too low.

There's enough players that run sub 4.4 to be considered more than statistical outliers. And there's enough of a difference between some than runs in the 4.2's and someone that runs in the high 4.3's to warrant a difference in ratings.
