well i probably wont do anything but its crazy how hes AN 80 OVERALL

the guy (as long as ronnie brown has below 118 yards tomm.) he will be leading the league in rushing after 5 weeks averaging 4.6 yards a carry


this guys rating is the biggest joke in this game as he sits right now hes pretty much unusable he has 84 speed

he needs to be at least a 88 and have at least a 88 speed (hes alot faster than people think (watch the steelers highlights and this weeks highlights if u think other wise)

in know way, shape, or form should people like fred jackson, kevin smith, moreno (who is a fn rookie), jamal lewis, LT, sproles, larry johnson, joeseph addai and i could go on be rated higher than benson


im not positive but im pretty sure that every team with the exception of maybe 4 has a higher rated hb than benson

88 is kinda high. It took Steve Smith NYG becoming the leader in catches yards and tds before they gave him a decent rating.

everybody is saying how he shouldnt be rated that high but what are your reasons?

its not because hes behind a great offensive line they were terrible last year and are super young this year, hes averaging like 4.5-4.6 yards a carry, he breaks tackles, he out runs defenders (steelers game and ravens game), he leads the entire nfl in rushing, he has been carrying the team on his back at one point in time sunday 17 of the 22 plays ran were to him

the only thing he doesnt do great is catch out of the backfield

and ill throw this out there out of the 5 teams he has played 3 of those teams were in the top 6 in run stopping and one of those teams havent given up a 100 yard rusher in 40 games till he broke that streak

and its not just this year last year when he played with the bengals he avergaed 4.4 yards a carry in like 9 games

Here is Benson's scouting report according to Scout's Inc. Most starting RBs have a 75 grade or higher. Clearly, Benson has exceeded expectations based on his previous seasons. He is an over-achieving RB this year, by no means a monstrous talent with game-breaking speed. I think his rating in Madden is actually a tad high already.

In my estimation, Cincinnati's performance so far this year is a "whole which is greater than the sum of its parts" situation. This happens when team chemistry and coaching help a team perform beyond talent levels and expectations. It's a lot of fun to watch. But this is difficult to duplicate in a game like Madden without pumping up player abilities beyond what they should be relative to other players. Perhaps this will be rectified in future versions of Madden by allowing for coaching/chemistry to have an impact on how well a team plays.

Cedric Benson

GRADE: 63.

Benson is a four-year player who joined the Bengals after his release from Chicago. He's a former first-round pick with good size, strength and acceleration. He is effective when he runs behind his pads and attacks the line of scrimmage. He has good foot quickness to make subtle cuts and hit a crease with acceleration. He has adequate speed to the outside and can lower his shoulder for a strong finish at the end of runs. He lacks long speed to run away from defenders once in space. Benson doesn't show great vision or creativity when dealing with congestion. He's not overly elusive to make multiple cuts and he's at his best making one cut and getting his shoulders squared up field. As a receiver, Benson has good hands out of the backfield. He's not overly dynamic in space, but he can get north-and-south quickly after the catch. Benson is better suited to be a backup because he lacks consistency.
