Do you need a gold subscription to get the roster updates, or can you get them with a silver subscription?

I believe this is the 1st year in next-gen that you can get the updates with Silver.

And its a beautiful, beautiful thing. I have no use for Gold other than the roster updates, so I was paying ten dollars for every update last year. ( I never actually paid though, I did the 3UN trick then updated manually after that)
