Madden NFL 22 Last Gen impressions thread

One big thing I’m noticing on the trial. When usering a pass rusher, as soon as you shed your block your lineman starts running really slow like their feet are stuck in quick sand. It gives me absolutely no chance at getting a sack. I’ve tried holding turbo after I shed the block, laying off of turbo and nothing seems to work. It’s really weird as I was not having this issue on the skills trainer.

Also not really a big fan of moving the pass rush moves to the right stick. I am very heavy fingered on the right stick and it is going to ware down my joysticks real quick

Game on last-gen feels exactly the same as 21 which is exactly the same as 20

Exhibitions plays exactly the same
Skill trainer has bugged twice so far

Havent tried franchise, I skipped last year for the first time in 20 years and after playing the trial I'm tempted to do the same

First game I played the Packers. I was happy to have to play some dime. It seems there are actual 4 wide receiver sets in the game.

The menus are slow. Painfully slow.

I've downloaded the trial for PC and played half a game. It then hard reset my computer.

It felt like the exact same game as last year, which felt like the previous two years. I don't have time in my life to play something so mediocre. I really hope that the exclusivity deal ends one day. The last football game I truly enjoyed was 2K8.

Hopefully a patch drops Tuesday. I'm gonna hold off using my last few hours until then since I get my copy on Friday anyway.

So I think what they did for running last gen is they slowed down acceleration for players and made animations blend a lot better when doing moves. I also saw several new failed tackle animations where the defender does a weak tackle attempt.

I'm pretty sure they improved ball trajectory on passes.

I couldn't find any way to make halftime adjustments. So I don't think these are on last gen.
