Cross-platform

Any news about being able to use cross-gen saves across new gen platforms? That's probably asking too much for this year, but I figured I ask anyway hoping EA considers adding it to the Madden franchise in the future.

Re: Cross-platform

Is this thread about transferring PS4 / XBOX One save data to PS5 / XBOX Series X, or about online head-to-head games and franchises between players on consoles in the same generation (PS4 player vs XBOX One player / PS5 player vs XBOX Series X player)?

If it's the former (cross-generation game saves) - I recall promoting Gen-4 save data to Gen-5 being a thing Madden 21. I absolutely promoted my franchise from PS4 to PS5. I am not sure it's still a thing this year, but given the widespread difficulty of acquiring a Gen-5 console, I wouldn't be shocked to see that feature return. It was not possible to send Gen-5 save data backwards to Gen-4 consoles, though.

If it's about the latter (console cross-play) - I gotta assume if EA added this they'd be shouting from the rooftops about it, so I think it's safe to assume it's not in.

Re: Cross-platform

Yeah I've been trying to find answers to this question for a while too. My biggest concern is on the series x just not having enough player base to make any kind of online play fun. I get the next gen version is a different game so I didn't expect any ps4/one players to match up with ps5/series players. I just was really hoping the player base would be all next gen combined.

Re: Cross-platform

You could upload your franchise from last gen to this gen easily...dont know why theyd take that out.

What we really want is XboxSeriesX|S / Ps5 cross-play.

Last year I think the game was the same other than graphics/framerate. This year there is a real difference between current and last gen so it may not be compatible.
