Coach Mode question - WHAT just happened?

I'm playing my first coach mode game in a few years and everything is running smoothly and sliders seem to be accurate.

Then in the last couple minutes in a close game my Star CB's name is WHITE and a little circle (??). In my mind I say hmmmmm that is knew, I wonder what that means.

Then the other team snaps the ball and my CB watches the WR run by and stands there like I was suppose to control him? What was that about? I lose the game as the other teams WR was wide open.

how did I mess this up??

ALSO - how do I take OFF the accelerated clock?

The simple answer is EA Sports doesn’t give a ****. “Coach mode” has been in the game for years but it has never worked... much like the rest of the game.

Worked GREAT for me except the last 2 plays! I saw zero issues and LOVED it . . . except for the oddness the last 2 plays!

I was thinking they FINALLY got a great coach mode - I'll have to take a screen shot if it happens again.

What does not work?

It does thing like set your guys in the wrong position to guarantee a pass because it wants the other team to win

I just tried coach mode for the first time in 5-6 years. Qbs still won’t scramble or even move. So lame. Glad I moved on to cpu/cpu. Only way to capture true simulation on madden. If you’re mashing buttons and having to take control of the qbs to scramble, the ratings don’t matter. Kind of beats the point of coach mode.

They haven’t fixed this for current gen yet, i don’t see them fixing it anytime soon. It’s a shame because I used to enjoy this mode. And I know others do too.

On coach mode you have to select your player. Sometime it will change by itself to a different player. If it’s any other player besides a defense lineman your player will just stand still

Seriously though it doesn’t work at all.

You still have to control a player on the field which means you can only ever have 10 players playing defence. You can still win games like this but you have to choose All-Pro or lower difficulty settings or use sliders to fix All-Madden to your liking... in either case the game is helping you to win or forcing you to lose.

Would recommend pretty much any other sports video game not made by EA Sports. They ALL do a good job except EA...
