How to be successful in franchise BY SIMMING

Certain playbooks sim better/provide better offense than others when simming.
Bears (with a mobile qb)
Bills (for passing yards)
Atlanta
Packers
Patriots
Saints
Titans (for passing yards)
Tampa bay (use multiple power run scheme or run and shoot)

The key to get top performance out of your qbs when simming is to make sure their traits are
Sense of pressure-ideal
Force passes can be any, but ideal is best
Tight spiral
If simming, your qbs overall doesn’t really matter (really!) as long as they have those traits

Make sure your LT and RT are great at pass blocking and awareness. They’re really the only linemen that matter in sim
WR and TE overall really doesn’t matter either (IF SIMMING)
As far as RBs, look for awareness, ball carrier vision, break tackle, and carrying

On defense (if you’re running 3-4) block shed, awareness, and power moves are big.
All of your defense should have the high motor trait. Your 3 down linemen and outside linebackers should also have the bull rush trait as well. Your Mlbs should have decent awareness, block shed (70+), and tackling.
I always want my DBs to have the aggressive play ball trait. For playbooks, try the bears, rams, patriots, ravens, and steelers playbooks.

Another key aspect- make sure (outside of qb and oline) that all of your players are 30 or younger for peak performance.

Again, this is if you are SIMMING all or most of your games. Of course you’d want better rated players if you’re actually playing. I hope this helps

This is incredibly fascinating and an excellent find, if true.

I don't think I've ever noticed the Titans and Bills offensive playbooks producing better passing stats. Personally, I'm finding that teams/QBs that should be having awesome stats are not (Mahomes, Stafford, Kyler Murray) and some teams/QBs that are much more "iffy" in real-life are throwing for much less INTs than they should (Baker Mayfield, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Gardner Minshew).

Baker Mayfield has ideal/aggressive/tight spiral traits, so he’s going to produce. Madden loves the browns playbook in sim, so he’s going to do well.

In addition to the passing yards, find a qb with traits like that with a 76+ bcv (ball carrier vision) with the titans pb and the west coast zone run scheme. He should win mvp

On madden 20, I used Taylor Heinicke as my qb (49 ovr) with the titans playbook and had multiple seasons of 4500+ yards and mvps

This is a real interesting find. I'm curious though how the sim engine would impact Baker & the Browns if you took those traits away. Does Mahomes not have those traits because it's crazy how the Chiefs don't do well when simming despite Mahomes. Did a fantasy draft one time, Mahomes was a Packer and they went 6-10 when I simmed.

Keep in mind injuries (if you have them on) and the team defense will also impact what youre seeing. The KC book is hit or miss sim wise seems like (Andy Reid retires after the first year too, so they may be using a different book.)
If you changed Baker's traits to something like oblivious/aggressive, he would play like Blaine Gabbert in sim lol

Try this out:
Start an offline franchise (fantasy draft or normal) , name it "experiment"
Turn injuries OFF
Use one of the previously mentioned playbooks and one of these quarterbacks (I may forget a few)

Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers
Patrick Mahomes
Drew Brees
Cam Newton
Phillip Rivers
Lamar Jackson
Nick Foles (yep lol)
Baker Mayfield
Matt Barkley (yep)
Joe Burrow
Tyler Huntley
Taylor Heinicke

each time, try a different playbook (from the list above) and see what happens
Good luck!
