Madden 20 - Remove Player From IR

So I'm at the preseason week 4 screen in franchise mode. Jason Verett is injured for 8 weeks and Matt Breida is injured for 9 weeks. I placed them both on IR.

I simmed forward and tried to test the feature. It seems as though the players are designated to return as soon as they are healthy, but you are unable to return them to the roster until you sim one additional week. The issue I'm having is this. Once I return one of them from IR, the other is no longer eligible to return from IR for the remainder of the season. I know the NFL rule allows you to return two players per year...has anyone successfully removed two players from IR in a season?

i think its 2 weeks from healthy they can be returned assuming there is a roster spot for each

Lol I saw this is same issue. Had 2 players on IT for 4+ weeks, I took one off successfully but the other didn't have an option. I had to send him to the practice squad then sign him, then he was fine. Hope this helps.

Well, if it were a fully accurate implementation, you shouldn't have been able to bring either one back...in the real NFL, you have to have been on the regular 53-man (not preseason) roster to be eligible to return from IR.

KC just went through it...they had to cut a guy (Jeff Allen) for a day, so that Chad Henne could spend a day on the roster before going to IR. Breeland Speaks was done for the year, so they sent him to IR immediately, since they didn't need to worry about leaving him eligible for return.

I'm wondering if some piece of that rule is in place, but wonky...what you're describing almost sounds like the AI getting confused, letting you do the first return, but that transaction "reminding" it you weren't supposed to be able to.

Yea I tried simming a few weeks further to see if the other guy could be added, but no dice.

I knew about this trick, unfortunately these two particular players aren't eligible for the practice squad so it doesn't help.

Hmmm...I'll test this out, because I DID think about that. I'll keep them on the 53-man roster, sim to week 1, then place them on IR.

It could have been patched, but when i first tried putting someone on IR, madden 20 still counted them as a part of my 53 man roster. I haven't put anyone on IR since.
