B+ Throwing Power?

Scouting a QB that:

-Will have the Superstar Dev Trait (Week 3 Story says his dad was a College coach. He knows the game better than some coaches)

-Has B+ Throw Power, B+ Throw on Run, and B+ Short Accuracy

-West Coast QB

-22 Years old

-Projected/Talent is Early 1st Round

Would you take a QB in the top 10 who will have anywhere from 86-89 throw power? The skill is not conducive to upgrades.

If you have any experience with a QB that had a weak arm, please let me know!

Those stats are to good to pass up imo. Especially if QB is a need. Even bonus if his awareness is already high (for a rookie) and he's somewhat mobile.

Re: B+ Throwing Power?

I'm using Watson in my 'chise. Went from Dalton to him, so I don't know what it is like to have a QB with a decent arm.

That being said, I haven't had any problems.

Who dey!

Re: B+ Throwing Power?

according to a scouting tool i use. it says for scouting QB

must have B+ Throw Power(or better), B Short(or better), B Medium or Deep(or better).

then the QB will almost certainly be a 78 or higher overall.

Those stats are solid for a West Coast QB, but if you plan on using the QB in a different scheme I'm not as enthused. THP is one of the most expensive stats to raise for a QB, so I like to scout it in the A range.

Re: B+ Throwing Power?

Personally the minimum throw power I need to run my offense, which uses a lot of intermediate distance passing, is 88.

In M17, my offense completely fell apart when Tony Romo regressed to 86 THP; he couldn't make the tight window throws anymore. Fortunately I had drafted his successor, who had 95 THP, and once I made the switch my offense picked up right where it had left off the previous season.

I'm mostly doing fine with Marcus Mariota this year (89 THP), but there are still some tight window throws he just can't make.

I only scout A THP as well. When they get older and THP decreases they may have accumulated enough XP to prop it up for a year or two.
