Madden NFL 18 General Manager Mode
Hello fellow Maddenites! I was just curious if anyone else on here is interested in probably my favorite Madden game "mode." The following are some aspects of the General Manager mode I play:
-Create a new coach and serve as the coach/general manager of an NFL franchise.
-You DO NOT play any games. Watching games is fine, but this obviously takes time so I usually sim through everything.
-XP sliders are set to 200.
-Injuries and pre-existing injuries are turned off.
I turn off automatic player progression. I usually do player progression at the end of the season (before playoffs).
Along with these settings, there are other themes you can do in your general manager mode. For instance, I have recently done a rebuilding theme. The rules are as follows:
-No salary cap
-You cannot have a player 80 or higher on your roster at the beginning of season 1. After season 1, anything goes. Players 80 or higher cannot be traded. They must be cut.
-5 trades with the CPU in year 1 but they can only be for draft picks, 1 trade every year after until you make the Super Bowl.
-1 free agent signing per year until you win the Super Bowl.
Another that I have considered is a rookie theme:
-Fantasy draft: you can only draft rookies
-No trades
-No free agents
-No salary cap
Obviously there are many different themes you can try out. A few years ago, I recall someone on a Madden forum posting updates about their current GM mode. If anyone else is interested, I thought would be something interested to try on here. Stats, such as W-L record, Super Bowl wins, MVP awards could be compared between users doing a certain GM theme.
What do you guys think?
