I know we have a thread for draft freaks, but I'm curious about your whole class good and bad, super stars and busts, to often I think we are turned off by slow development or low ceilings guys but they all have a purpose on your team. Maybe he's a run of the mill guy but for some reason he plays well for you, or there just something about him. What are you stories?

Started a new franchise...........first two classes have absolutely terrible as a whole. The first rounds have had good talent, but very few quality players the rest of the draft. The league has struggled to find contributors worth the pick they were slotted in rounds 2-7.

I personally love that. I was hesitant to get into madden 17 because all things considered madden 16 was a great game for me, but i thought the draft classes we not well "randomized". It seemed to me that they were over powered with 80 overall talent. When i started researching the 17 classes i was excited. Will be getting madden 17 soon and look forward to this. GOOD LUCK

Working on turning the Browns around.

First draft I bombed out, although I was able to pick up Sam Bradford and Xavier Rhodes for a 1st and 2nd round pick. Rhodes has been a continuous beast for me. Bradford has been Bradford, good when he is healthy but never healthy. I had to roll with a 4th string late season pickup into my first playoff run last year (year 3).

2017 Draft (Number 2 pick)

1st Round (traded back to 5) running back Something Ivy was a bust (forgot his first name), ended up signing Devonta Freeman and will not be renewing contract once it's out. Devonta is my workhorse.
2nd round pick was traded
3rd round pick Drew Sewell (TE) has been productive. Took over TE duties this years after not renewing Barnidge.
4th rounder was a DT that is not not even with my team
5th round pick was a C, no good. Moved him to LG and he is hanging tight.
6th round pick was a QB Something Miles, a scrambler that didn't make it out of preseason

A few other various picks that didn't pan out. I felt like a failure because of this draft. All were normal or worse development.

2018 Draft () I want to say I drafted 16thish (7-9 record)
1st Round Pick AJ Morrison (WR), similar to Demayrius Thomas, real fast, big playmaker. Quick development. I believe he had something like 40 catches since I am a runfirst team. Would've hard more in a difference offense.
1st round pick (I swapped my #2 last year for the #5 and another first round pick). Left guard Brock Something (Quick Dev)- 78 overall to start holding down the left side
2nd round pick- DT bust, he is on my team but like a 68. Can't even think of his name
3rd round- Traded with a few other small picks for Frank Clark.
4th round- Trae Griffin (Superstar DEV) Right guard 77 overall to start. THANK YOU JESUS
5th round- Jackson Gallery MLB (68 overall, normal DEV)- Had an amazing year alongside Paul Posluszny. Finished season with 115 tackles, named DROY. Really bumped him up and put him at quick DEV.
6th round- WR named Orgeron. Pro-bowl KR with 97 speed.
7th round- Drafted a punter. He was terrible.

A few other non-significant people.

2018 Draft
1st round- CB named Khari Bynum 77 overall normal DEV doing well.
2nd round- DE name something Peck 73 overall normal DEV hasn't seen much playing time.
3rd round- traded for picks
4th round- another CB name unknow
5th round- FS with no playing time yet
6th round- backup TE
7th round- Punter

Overall I have had one good year, one bad year and one average year. I am only a few game into year 4 so I can't think of many of the recent draft's names because I have had limited playing time with them.

I'm in the 6th year of my franchise and I don't remember all the details of the rounds they were selected by here is a basic recap of the better ones I've drafted.

Picked a WR up in the first round. By his 3rd season he was achieveing a 1,000 yard season and is currently on pace for another one. Currently a 85 OVR, drafted as a 78.

The same draft as the WR, I selected a ROLB in the later rounds. He was a starter from day 1. Has recorded over 350 tackles, 15 sacks and 5 interceptions thru 4+ seasons. Drafted a 80 OVR, currently a 86 OVR.

Picked up a HB (it was between 1st and 2nd round). He replaced a Pro Bowl veteran HB by his 3rd season and broke 1,000 yards that season and was named to the Pro Bowl. Drafted as a 75 OVR, is now a 86 OVR,

Drafted a MLB as a dire need in the first round. Was a starter by his 2nd season and has broken 110 tackles every season as a starter. Drafted as a 78 OVR and is now a 84 OVR

Needed a backup QB and selected one if the third round. Because of injury he became a starter most of his rookie season. Excelled with almost 4,000 yards and nearly 30 tds. Doing just as well in his 2nd season (current season). Drafted as 78 OVR, currently a 82 OVR.

Also drafted a TE in the same draft as the QB , but he was 1st rounder. Gifted receiver, not much of a blocker. He caught 57 passes as a rookie, started about 10 games. This season he is already over 40 catches thru 8 games. Drafted as a 80 OVR, currently a 84 OVR.

I Did draft a SS last season, he just was inserted into the starter role - so jury is still out on him. Drafted a 79 OVR and is now a 81 OVR.

So 5 drafts so far. Some key franhcise pieces have been added. But I miss alot as well. I don 't recall any sure fire busts. Most of the offensive lineman I have drafted, don't develop too quickly, so they develop for awhile before starting. Haven't drafted any real studs on either of the lines - but I try every draft. Cornerbacks are tough too find too, I've have no luck so far.

Round 1, Pick 7: Frank Whiting, 4-3 LOLB (77 OVR). He had great draft grades, and turned out slightly worse than expected, but still a great pick. Elite burst and agility, but his top end speed is about average for an elite LB. Has the strength and block shedding technique to take on TEs, FBs, and hold his own against OL. Finishes plays with big hits. Above average play recognition for a rookie, but will need to work on biting on play fakes and zone defense before cracking the starting lineup of a team that includes KJ Wright, Freeman, and Misi at LB.

Round 3, Pick 32: Khambrel Easy, 4-3 LE (66 OVR). Had 2 good draft grades (85 PMV, 83 PUR) and decent movement skills for a 300 pounder, but has disappointing ratings everywhere else and will struggle to make the 53 man roster.

Round 5, Pick 32: Ace Sandidge, CB (78 OVR). I wasn't expecting much from Ace, but pulled the trigger since it was so late in the draft and knew he had some good stats. Turns out he's 80+ in Man cov, Zone cov (85), and press, with 74 PRC. Movement skills above average for a good CB at ~92 each.

Round 6: Kevin Santiago, QB (78 OVR), Kerrick Glears, SS (69 OVR). Santiago was clearly not scouted correctly by the league, as he is an instantly ready starter (who unfortunately was drafted by Aaron Rodgers's team). ~84 Throwing accuracy stats, 93 THP, good size, and above average movement skills (79 spd, 81 acc).

Round 7: Faysal Pinkney, RT (76 OVR), L. Vernon WR (66 OVR), T. Schneck, LOLB (63 OVR). Was looking to pickup some depth with a great run blocker in Pinkney (88 RBk), but got a guy who will look to challenge Jake Long for his starting spot midway through the season as he learns the scheme and adjusts to NFL-caliber pass rushers (his AWR and PBK are quite low). Vernon is a possession WR with good draft grades, but likely won't make the roster. Schneck, Mr. Irrelevant, has been cut 2 games into the preseason.

I love seeing the work people will put into a player. I want to see a mid 60s guy work his way. Maybe hes not a stud, but he is a piece to the puzzle. As a friend of mine says, the overall is useless its all in "how they play".
