Created/Relocated Fictional Team Talk

I feel many people probably create fictional teams either through fantasy drafting in franchise mode or relocate an existing team to become a fictional team. I was wondering if anyone of you reading this would like to share your team's story or a summary of your season so far?

I liked to relocate the Lions every year, trade away key players for picks or players i like, and build up my own team, the Chicago Blues (was bandit before nfl took out the customization feature).

I'm thinking of returning the Titans to Houston as the Oilers.
I'm on the fence for many reasons.

If a team moves in CFM will the city that they abandoned become available as a relocation option for other teams in the future? Or is that city just dead and football-less after?

Just started a Redskins franchise with the intent of moving them out of Washington. Not sure where to yet. Still in preseason.

Re: Created/Relocated Fictional Team Talk

I love doing the expansion thing by relocating a team. The Jags or Chargers are my normal target teams to replace. I like to release everyone that has a contract that goes beyond the 1 year I have to play as the team I replace. I then just fill the roster with low rated players on a 1yr contract. In the offseason I have a clean (no players) roster to build from nothing. I have house rules to keep things realistic.

Here are 3 expansion teams I have done with M16...

Replaced the Chargers as LA Red Dragons: I went 6 seasons befor giving up. The first 3 years were all about building. After 3 years with the worse record in the NFL 4-48 and 3 years of picking 1st I built a team. By year 4 I was making the playoffs but could not get over the hump, much like the Chargers of a few years ago. After season 6 most of my core wanted out so I ended the CFM.

Replaced Jags as Houston Oilers: currently in 2nd season. Went 7-9 in first season thinks to a Mike Vick clone of a QB I found with my 4th round pick. The guy has 90spd, 97thp, 88sac & mac, 79dac. The guy is so fun to play with.

Replaced the Chargers as the Sacraminto Miners: just started this one. I drafted a stud corner, and 2 stud receivers with 95 & 97 speed. I won the first ever game against the Browns. Looks like I have a start but with Ponder as my QB things might get nasty.

Re: Created/Relocated Fictional Team Talk

I moved the Raiders to Memphis and got rid of Carr and a few other pieces. After three years we went to the AFC championship and lost to the Ravens.

I've now started a Jacksonville Jaguars franchise. Moved them to Memphis also and renamed them the hounds. Im in season two and 0-5. We got a ways to go.

NFL Expasnion Draft 2016

Spread sheet i put together as an expansion draft core.

Basically, copy your main roster you use, and rename it Expansion.

Then, Open up the spreadsheet, and follow NFL Expansion Draft rules, and select your core of 28-36 players. Trade those players to your team you chose (in almost all cases myself, i use the Jaguars or the Lions as the team i replace. Then, drop everybody you didnt select as an expansion draft pick with low (65 or less) overall players on 1 year contracts, and sim away for your first year. Let me know what ya think!

Don't take this the wrong way but here is the problem I see with most expansion list, there are to many players with value on the list. In the NFL a GM would not put a player on an "expansion" list that still has value. What you see is bottom of the roster or practice squad players with the rare aging vet with a non team friendly contract. Guys that are starting or key backups would not be on the list, they have value.

We are talking about a video game though so any list, like yours, is not wrong. I just prefer to go the free agent only route to fill a roster.
