Game XP in Franchise Mode Disappears?

I had a player gain over 1,000 XP from a game played. Added to the 860 he already had it would have given him about 2,000 to spend. When I advanced to the next week, it said he only has 860 XP. What gives?

Check whether you have Progress Players in League Options/User Team Help set to on. If so, the CPU may have used those points automatically. You could also pull up his player card and check progression history to see if there are any rating/trait changes that you didn't make yourself.

Otherwise I have no idea. Never heard of a bug like that.

If you do Training before playing your game (which is the intended use case), the XP feedback screen which appears post-game shows how much XP a player gained from both Training and the game combined. To that end it's possible you are misinterpreting what that Top XP Earners panel which appears post-game is actually telling you.
