Re: Madden NFL 17 Tuning Update Available Now, Here Are The Details (9-23)

So I've played 3 full games since the tuner. I'm not noticing much of a difference except the running being harder. But to me it was too easy so I'm happy with the changes. I'm also having less of an issue with QB fumbles which is good for me.

I play All Madden with Charters sliders, I'm having a good time with Madden this year. To me this tuner just made the game better.

I kinda wish they would make QB's less accurate, and punts less powerful but you can fix that stuff with sliders.

Are you seeing a 300yd/4 TD/0 INT performance specifically after this tuner? I haven't seen anything like that yet. I am seeing QBs being too accurate in general, but that has existed since launch. Or are you seeing fewer broken tackles? I personally am not there either. I see a mix of broken and made tackles, same as before this tuner.

For what it's worth, my personal feeling on the tuner is ...meh. I don't notice anything overly positive or negative in it. Not to say that you're not seeing these things, I'm just wondering what the possible differences are in our games that we're seeing such wildly different things.

No no, i was talking in general. Some of this stuff were already happening on Madden 2017 before the tuner, like QB being too accurate. I do see less Broken tackles and less organic drops thought.

I will be honest hopefully this don`t get me in trouble. But this year its happening the same as last year.

When i played the launch version, it felt different game, more dynamic, organic, good stuff. After tuner and patches, i felt like I'm back playing the same old madden. For example, it was great to see that HB were dropping sideline catches, because, they are HB after all. No need to have a D tackling him or forcing the drop, they just dropped because it was a difficult catch and they have bad Catching rating. And this happens. those small details are what i like about the game and i feel they keep taking them back.

What i feel is that with these tweaking and patching they are taking out variables and the outcome end up being A or B, instead of C, D, F, you get my point.

Maybe it`s me that i get used to it. I don`t know. But that is how i feel.

on 2016 when they patched the QB accuracy for me was a HUGE step back. Now they are doing the same with the organic drops and broken tackle.

Those 3 elements are huge in gameplay IMHO.

I don't think you'd get in trouble, you're not being a jerk about anything. It's your opinion.

The last thing I'll say on this because I don't want to get too far off track here, is that I think some people are so absolutely convinced that each tuner or patch is going to do something negative to the game that they force themselves to believe it. So I see posts with experiences like yours and SECElit3's and I'm not experiencing anything close to that. But I'm one guy and that's just my experience, so I look around to other impressions and see if I'm missing something...and I don't see anyone else saying the game feels less organic or more stiff or anything.

So to see guys who were worried about the update before even playing it come away with the exact situation they felt was going to happen, and nobody else is seeing it? Not that you're lying about it, but there are a lot of variables from game to game that determines this.

But those are just my thoughts on it and like I said, I don't want to sidetrack the thread on this. Whatever experience you're having, hopefully you can work the sliders to get it to somewhere where you'll enjoy the game.

This is extremely reassuring. Gonna give his sliders a shot tomorrow.

I usually only play all-pro, but charter's AM sliders are excellent. And the base he has are adjustable to players that aren't used to that level

I think you make good points overall with the state of Madden, and what most players are looking for in general. And I'm on the same page as you with alot of things. As far as the tuner, I'm seeing it as an improvement with the running game. Only played 3 games, and didn't notice much else. An improvement over what it was. Not launch, But recently

Re: Madden NFL 17 Tuning Update Available Now, Here Are The Details (9-23)

The biggest difference I see with the tuner is that it toned down the CPU ball carrier to more realistic performance. Pre tuner, the CPU ball carrier would ALWAYS (on All Madden anyway) make the first and sometimes second defender miss the tackle. Now, the shifter backs can still make some misses happen but on a much more believable level. This has improved the run game.

QBs still fumble too much, while other positions hardly fumble at all.

Biggest game killer still present is the poor defensive pursuit, particularly by safeties and LBs to the boundary. They run straight ahead as if defending the A gap instead of maintaining outside leverage and take themselves out of the play.

I have also seen far too frequent glitchy defensive behaviors. Safety stopping (frozen) at LOS and watching RB run right past them for a TD (not when blitzing, so not nano blitz detection- which needs to be eliminated off line) instead of pursuing into back field to make a tackle. Safety not covering their deep half in cover two, allowing receiver to stand wide open in the end zone without a defender in the area, etc. This is a 90 plus rated safety! Really kills the immersion.

Hopefully the pursuit issues will be addressed in the full patch upcoming.

Delivering on the "working auto subs" promise would be a welcome surprise as well.
