Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

I can't express enough how impressed I am with Madden 16!!! Absolutely loving this game. The way the players interact with each other. The competitive games I'm seeing using Coach Suggestions. And don't get me started on the fact that when there is a penalty you can go and see if play out in replay. It's a fantastic game. In my personal opinion, it's the best Madden to date.

Well, I've played a lot of Madden since the early 90's and it's all-pro for me. This year, with sliders slightly tilted towards the CPU, all-pro provides a much better challenge for me vs previous years.

Other people may feel differently, that's the beauty with options.

Same as me. I've played since very first Madden and my level is somewhere between all pro and all madden. So I just play all pro with sliders towards cpu. Just can't play a level that blatantly cheats. Noone will ever convince me all madden doesn't cheat. Game is tuned on all pro so I start there and adjust as needed.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

I have liked this Madden from the first game. It just feels much smoother than other Madden's up to this point.
I don't like that I cannot scout development but I love the combine numbers.

Game Prep

I think we should be able to drill any position.

Why does QB have 5+ drills to choose from and RB has 1 and tight-end have 0?

And of course, it is almost pointless anyway. I have been drilling my rookies who have fast/star development WITH coach trait and I get anywhere from 120-250 xp. That comes out to be around 3500 xp for a season. Why even bother spending the time to go through the drills when at the end of the season I cant raise any significant trait in any significant way. And give up on ever raising an average player to quick. By the time you get his xp raised up, it will be a waste to use xp on development.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

With the gameplay being better than it's ever been, I'm desperately missing formations subs now. Scheming and matching up to contain certain players really matters now, so having to make all these switches at the beginning of each game is such a pain.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

I'm on the fence this year about buying Madden. My two biggest complaints last year were terrible AI QB play and overpowered zones which made both sides constantly play zone. I've looked all over and haven't found them discussed in much detail, have they been addressed? Does the AI get competent QB play this year on default all-pro or all-madden? Is there more balance between man and zone?

I'll let someone else answer the zones issue for you. me personally, I feel it is balanced.

But your concern for QB play is very valid, it is the reason why I got rid of madden 15 after a week. Madden 16 has the best QB AI in the series and in my opinion all football games ever.

It is the most significant improvement for madden 16 and is the biggest reason why this game has gotten rave reviews on OS. QB is the most important position and this game you will be able to tell when you use a scrub versus when u use an elite QB. Same as agaisnt the CPU, against a scrub he will be missing passes left and right.

Last year had robo QB, not any more
Last year QBs only threw dink and dunk short passes, not anymore
Last Year QBs took too many sacks because they waited and waited, greatly improved this area as well. Mobile QBs wiill look to scramble or buy more time.

hope that helps

Re: Madden NFL 16 Community Impressions

Thanks for the reply. The improvement in AI QB play as you suggested might give me an indication of the issues with overpowered zone d. I've had issues with terrible AI play the last couple years and once you see the pattern the game is borderline unplayable. I tried just about every slider set and even some house rules and would regularly see the cpu qb throw for less than 100 yards in a game.
