Simmed Stats?

Has anyone seen or heard anything about the sim engine this year? I really hope they worked on this, as I have always found maddens sim engine pretty bad.

Hopefully they account for RBBC back fields this year...

Re: Simmed Stats?

This is so important to me, but we seem to be in the minority. I think their algorithms for simming have been awful for years, never accounting for the variations in team play style nearly enough. Things I hope were fixed (but not holding my breath about)

*Nowhere near enough sacks
*Not every team needs to have a 2nd RB who scores 10 TD's in a season.
*Too many 100 reception receivers in a season
*Too many defensive touchdowns
*Too many special teams touchdowns
*Offensive line stats are always atrocious
*2nd TE stats should mirror teams that run multiple TE sets more often
*Special teams (punting averages, especially once the league ran out of good punters)
*QB stats are still off a bit

Re: Simmed Stats?

In addition to the "main" stats, things like pancakes, team sacks / individual sack distribution and the overabundance of punt attempts are always waaaay out of wack...

Last year, they actually patched the QB stats(to some degree of positive effect) so hopefully stats have stayed on the radar for the "legacy issue" level tune ups...

Re: Simmed Stats?

The fact that we haven't heard anything about this or roster editing should tell people that they weren't fixed.

I just don't understand why they bother with all of these bells and whistles when they don't even have the basics included. Things that have been in football games for nearly 30 years...

Re: Simmed Stats?

It probably falls into the "tuned" category.

This is not a test.

Agreed. What's the point of a deep franchise if the stats are always way off? It boggles my mind that they don't get serious about this.

Re: Simmed Stats?

How about when you're driving downfield and on like the 8th or 9th play you fumble and it gets recovered by the defense and then it's challenged and you get it back it starts the drive stats over even though you never lost possession of the ball

Because the average gamer thinks every QB throws for 5000 yards and EA thinks if they "just get close enough" no one will care or notice.
