The game already uses this format in CFM (under the hood) to represent team/league value.
(**is not the seen OVR)

90-99 = Icon (i.e. Team Cornerstones)
82-89 = Award Winner (i.e. Pro Bowler)
76-81 = Captain
70-75 = Marquee
60-69 = Regular
59 & under

Ok...but wouldn't it be better if there was a scale or this scale used for players true value..similar to what u see with FBG ratings

My answer is that "Ratings" function in various roles within the overall scope of the game, beyond just a "player value" system.

What doesn't get discussed when talking about what mechanism/model should be used, is the "functionality" implication of a rating/model change upon years of coding, especially since Madden is not being rebuilt from the ground up. (per say)

A changed ratings model has implications upon these aspects of coding.
1) Player Contracts

2) Depth Charts

3) Animations
- triggering levels
- ability to expand/add hundreds or more upon a "particular" rating, there by, limiting the ability to make an aspect of gameplay more fluid

4) Die Roll/Win Loss

5) Coach's/Staff. (they're part of the current model used)
- they impact player ratings

6) Subjective Areas
- Stamina
- Injury

Again, ratings go beyond the scope of just "player value" and have a multitude of implications upon the "functionality" of Madden as a whole.

To be honest, if Madden was built to a 100% replication of the NFL, most wouldn't enjoy themselves while playing, because our perspectives of the sport vary for a plethora of reasons, an element of "fantasy" must be present in Madden to capture such a broad stroke of perspectives.

That's the beauty of video games!!!

If I may ask, where did you learn to break down game film? Did you coach or serve as a GA somewhere?

Just asking because I first learned from Mike O'Connell (http://www.wifca.org/news_article/sh...rrer_id=480362) while coaching at EC-Regis about a decade ago before being formally taught by David Te' Thomas (http://bleacherreport.com/users/153363-dave-te-thomas) while serving as a midwest regional scout at NFLDS from 2005-2009.

It just goes to show you that everyone gets a start somewhere and I wanted to know where you got yours.

Did you actually expect a response Dan? Again, uniform guys should stick with uniforms. Kane does a fair job at them. Ratings should be handled by someone who only has that responsibility.

The process in it's current state is destined for failure, as indicated by some of the late season ratings.

90-100 should be Hall of Famer territory. And as stated, by an earlier poster, Dallas is extremely overrated.

This is not at all fair.

The question was asked at 3 pm on friggin Christmas.

I'm all for fair criticism but lets not say something like this when the guy hasn't even been given a fair chance to respond.

I thought it was Christmas time when one spreads good cheer and good will all around.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if people aren't working during the holidays and enjoying time off with their families.
