You can sometimes have weird glitches/anomalies like that in a video game. If it happens regularly, then that's a big problem. But I have a feeling that was just one of those rare quirks. So I'll let that slide.

As for the broken tackles, I don't have any problem with Bell breaking the tackles, but I wish it looked more life-like. The thing that always gets me with Madden is that people look so stiff most of the time. If you watch his hips, they stay at basically the same level the whole time. When bracing for a hit, or trying to regain solid footing, human beings tend to drop their hips to lower their center of gravity. Now, in fairness, the hips do drop a little bit on the last collision and when he's trying to regain his balance, but not enough to look natural in my opinion. You also hardly ever see the feet go wider than should width apart in Madden, unless it's a juke move animation. It would have been nice, after the last collision, to see Bell stick the left leg out and plant in order to catch himself and stay on his feet. He sort of does this, but his feet stay so close together that it's hard to believe anyone could have kept their balance in real life. It robs impacts from feeling like there's any real force behind them.

I realize this is nitpicking, but it's the reason that the players in Madden look stiff and robotic to me most of the time. Better animations that showcase the bracing for impact, and the struggle to maintain balance after an impact, would do a lot for the series.

But to conclude on a more positive note, remembering where we were 5-6 years ago with the Madden franchise, things are looking a lot more promising now.

Draft Champions may not have been a community request, but they nailed it. Online head to head matches were stale with players only choosing Seahawks, 49ers and Cowboys. This mode gives everyone the ability to play with their favorite team without coming in handicapped......I'm looking at you Jaguars fans!

Agreed, but it's good that at least Bell sticks out his arm to shove off his teammate Brown, so at least there is that awareness that, hey, I can't just bounce off of my teammate as if I didn't even know he was there.

That couldn't have been explained a better way haha. It's perfect for me, because I play MUT primarily for the fantasy football aspect. Picking players you want, then going against opponents.

My problem with MUT, is that majority of the community runs the same players for the most part. Tall WR, running QB, Playbooks (49ers, eagles, hawks, skins, NO, bronco). It gets old. At least with this new mode you need some luck to be able to draft your favorite playbook AND QB.

Re: More Madden NFL 16 Gameplay Videos

I really want to hate on this game. I even had a comment removed by mods from here following the E3 reveal. Madden 15 was my first madden in 4 years, and afterwards I was saying, "Won't get me this year, uh uh" ...

But that E3 reveal really was just to showcase the sensational highlight plays. After seeing all of the gameplay videos, the animations in this game seem to have vastly improved. Looking more 2K-esque in many ways. Yeah, still alot of old legacy animations to just need to be thrown out the window (many QB animations, same kicker/punter animations from PS2, etc.), but overall the game is looking much more dynamic, and '16 is looking noticeably separate from Madden 2001-2015, at least on video ...
