exiting a game taking me back to main menu?

this has happened a few times now in my almost two seasons...I'll finish a game, hit exit game after reviewing stats and it will go back to the MAIN menu and not the CFM franchise menu screen and my game that I just finished isnt saved

I just finished a MONSTER win over the Packers in week 17 and this happened again.

Is it just me? I've also had it spontaneously take me back to the xbox dashboard in the middle of a game, both times that happened it let me resume the game I was playing but this losing the whole game is a real problem.

edit 2, did some better searching and I now see this is a known and ignored (by EA) issue with the game. guess I'll just table the game for awhile, I found posts going back to October reporting this. what a POS.
