CFM Player Goals

I thought Josh Looman came out and said that the goals would be adjusted this year based on where guys are on the depth chart. Low and behold, we started our online CFM only to see the EXACT same goals as last year. Am I missing something? All 3 of my QBs have a goal of 35 TD passes. My top two receivers have a goal of 130 catches, and my top 2 CBs have goals of 7 interceptions. 7 interceptions???? Really??? That's not a goal, that's leading the league. I also looked at the halfback goals, and everything was exactly the same as last year.

Can someone enlighten me on this issue and tell me what I missed? (Serious question).

I haven't looked at goals much but 7 interceptions?? That's a bit excessive. Sherman was the only player in the league last year above 7. Only two QB's had above 33 TD's.

Re: CFM Player Goals

Yes they lied again. Goals were suppose to be fixed but yet again they are unrealistic for backup players.

Re: CFM Player Goals

That's the "Very Hard" goal. I know that they are excessive, but usually half of them is the "Normal" goal for players, ie. 17.5(18) TDs or 3.5(4) INTs. Its whatever is between 0 and the most right number. It's like your coach goals for wins, the Very Hard Goal is usually a championship game or winning the SB, but the normal goal will be around 7-9 wins. 18 TDs for a QB, 4 INTs for a CB, and 7-9 wins for a coach are pretty realistic - at least, if they play a lot of snaps. Those would be silly for backups but meh.

Season goals are as absurd as ever, but I think game goals may have been adjusted.

Re: CFM Player Goals

More on the subject: Press X(PS4, A for Xbone) when in the Team Goals thing to view the "actual" goals for a player. There's Easy (0), Normal (a meh number, should be easy to get if the person actually plays), Hard (decently difficult, may depend on your playing style), and Very Hard (difficult to attain unless you work at it or have jacked stats).

These are what tell the true story, not the 0-17.5-35 thing for Passing TDs on a QB. In my Bears franchise, Cutler is 0-20-30-35 for his goals. That's reasonable. 35 TDs is a pretty difficult number to attain, but he should be guaranteed 20-30. However, the backup QBs both are 0-1-20-35. Notice the 1 is Normal? Yeah, backup QBs don't want 35 TDs. They only need the 1. If they get 20, your backup was out for a loooong time and they will get a lot of extra XP for it, more than your starter would for doing the same thing. If they hit 35, they might as well be your starter, hence why they get the same goal for the Very Hard.

RBs: Forte wants 0-1000-1250-1500 Rushing YDs, but all the backups only want 0-250-400-750. 250 rushing yards with a backup should be easy to obtain - maybe not with your 3rd or 4th string, but still possible. The same thing applies across the board at all positions - backups always want less for their Normal and Hard goals, but maybe only a little less or the same for Very Hard, RBs, CBs, and WRs as an exception because those backups have a much higher chance of playing.

Chances are you'll eventually use your backup for *something*, whether you're blowing out an opponent, starter gets knocked out, or you're resting your starters in week 16 or 17 because you're locked into the playoffs. In which case, throw that 1 TD and pat yourself on the back - that backup just got his yearly goal.

The point is - don't go by that max number. That's for maximum development and should be a very hard to achieve goal. They aren't broken; you are just reading them wrong.

Thank you good sir. I didn't think to do that. Once again, I wasn't bashing here, I was legitimately asking what the changes were. I'm glad the crazy hard goals are crazy, I'm all for making it harder for guys to achieve all pro/HOF type goals.
