When will madden ever introduce gap assignments in the game?

This game still does not use a gap assignment system. Its a part of EVERY football teams defense yet still don't see it in the game. The d line doesn't control there gaps on the run , they're doing spin moves out of the gap and the RBs just gashes us up their gaps. And the line backers don't attack their gaps , this isn't a football game at all. Its frustrating, we have cars that drive themselves and they can't even do this.

Just like in your last thread, this post is extremely negative and I don't believe it's very constructive. This is a great topic for discussion. You have great ideas, but go about it in a non-constructive way.

I can foresee gap assignments making it in eventually but probably not until Madden 17. They still have another year of "clean up" from the previous 9 years of adding and subtracting.

It points out a very obvious issue in Madden that's existed for years, so I see this as completely constructive.

I haven't said anything wrong? I stated the facts, where are the wrong doings? Comparing the engineering of cars to the programming of a game? Thats nothing bad, its a point I'm trying to get across. Its constructive and I'm letting it be known for the better of us , the football fans.

I also would like to add that the game should require your defense to call to the strength of the offenses formation strength. Football minds know what this is and where to call it. For the new players and people who don't know what it is it should be taught in the skills trainer. It will only make it more realistic. If you lined up wrong and not to the offenses strength , your defense pays for it.

Where exactly is the "Negative "? He points out a flaw that needs to be addressed. I don't know you or your posts but you just sounds as if you are one of those fan-boys that don't like when a flaw in a game that has many flaws are pointed out. Like I said that just how you came across on this post.

This would end the unrealistic dominance of the outside run, and it wouldn't require new "wide" formations that aren't really used in the NFL in the way Madden is trying to implement them (and I'm skeptical they would work anyway; moving players around to wider formations in Madden 25 did nothing to fix the insanely unrealistic edge setting A.I., and outside runs dominated regardless). Setting the edge is a football fundamental, and it would be nice if that could be put it, like really put in. I understand how it would be extremely difficult though without removing all control from the user. But as you said, as a society we should have the tech.

Re: When will madden ever introduce gap assignments in the game?

Suction interactions and a minimal acceleration burst from the Defense is a big variable in the equation of the problem.

The game has interior linemen setuo to shade and attack certain gaps but once the ball is snapped the outcome is simply am olineman sliding to occupy a defender or if it is a stunt you have an olienman waiting for the defender to be swallowed into his waiting arms for a big bear hug..

I am not sure what we can contribute as a solution in here though: the folks at the Madden studios know how things should play out.
