Help! How to user-play defense? :-(

Hi,

Can someone give me some tips here? I'm totally lost.

I'm playing Madden 25 Superstar as a linebacker and my team constantly sucks at defense and I have no idea what or how to change it.

I feel like I'm selecting appropriate plays. Although I don't really know, I just match my corner backs to their recievers.

Somehow my team is leading the league in sacks and also yards gained passing and rushing, but coming bottom of the league in yards allowed passing by a LONG way and also close to bottom in yards allowed rushing.

I'm not sure what I can do. Most of the yards my team gives up aren't even anywhere near the player I'm user-controlling (which is of course one of the linebackers in Superstar mode), and my player usually has pretty solid game stats and a good rating at the end of the game. But the team defense is still horrifically bad.

What am I missing? I must be doing something wrong but I don't even know where to start looking.

Please help. It's extremely frustrating.

P.S. I've tried searching YouTube, but the videos I found, they seem advanced. I only follow about 1/4 of it and they seem mostly concerned with player vs player competitive games. I need beginner tips to just not totally suck against the A.I.
