Defense against Corner Routes

On Madden 24 PS4 version, does anyone have any suggestions on how to defend the corner routes? Which plays could I call?

I'm curious about defending the the attached play art....This play is under the Trips TE formation.

My friend that I play likes to throw to the red route and to the Tight End. I always have trouble playing defense when he calls that play on offense.

Thank you!

Cover 3 should be effective.

Kinda depends on what is meant by "post" too.

If he means a glance post route, cover 3 gets eaten up by it (throw low and inside, about 15 yards deep and it'll go right into the soft spot of cover 3.

If it's a big post, then yeah cover 3 will stop that deep shot over the middle.

Those are flag routes aren't they? Madden D has always had trouble with Flag Routes. Turn off match coverage to get a spot drop and use the coach adjustments to drop the purple zones to 15 yards as I recall. That should leave someone sitting there ready to break on the ball. That will leave the flat route open so you'll have to man him up with a linebacker or just accept it and force the guy to throw short plays.

First those are corner routes. If the cut was to the center of the field it would be a post route.

Second if you're playing a user that likes that route I'd suggest playing a cover 2 man and then set your pass coverage Pre play to cover outside. It should take care of the corner routes.

You then may have issues with the underneath routes but if you only rush 3 instead of 4 you should be able to help cover those up manually.

For zone, you can also set your flat zones to what's probably 20 or 25 for that specific route I would guess just looking at it.

For man, the playing outside and under on that specific receiver will also help assuming your corner has enough speed/man coverage to keep up.

Like they said, those are corner routes. Cover 3 will get torched on corner's! The suggestions that the other guys offered should be effective!
